Justice Swati Chauhan has made a film on a highly sensitive legal subject related to her own pronouncement of triple talaq.

In Bollywood, filmmakers have often made films on serious and burning issues, and a large audience has seen and appreciated these films. However, perhaps never before has a judge shown the courage to make a film on her own decision. Justice Swati Chauhan is one such justice, having made a film about her own triple talaq decision nearly 14 years ago, a decision that created a stir in the country at the time. Indeed, the courage of such a powerful woman should be commended for making such a revolutionary decision and for co-producing a film on the Saira Khan case with renowned filmmaker Karan Razdan, which was released this week.

The film was produced under the banner of Soul Films, and its most significant feature is that it was directed by a former Chief Justice. This is Swati Chauhan's first foray into the film industry, and she decided to direct the film herself. She co-wrote the film with filmmaker and actor Karan Razdan.

Story Plot

In 2014, Justice Swati Chauhan made a film on the highly sensitive socio-legal subject of her own pronouncement of triple talaq. In my opinion, this film honestly exposes the conflict between women's rights, equality, and religious laws within India's secular framework. The story revolves around Saira Khan (Poonam Dubey), a Muslim woman who is unilaterally divorced by her husband, Hanif (Rajneesh Duggal), through triple talaq. Following this, Saira is separated from her children and decides to fight for justice. The film honestly depicts Saira Khan's legal and emotional struggle, as she fights to the end for her dignity and rights. To find out the outcome of Saira's struggle and whether she wins this one-sided battle, you'll have to go to your nearest theater and watch the film.

Watching the film, one gets the impression that the "spirit" of the 2014 verdict has been retained, although the characters, names, and locations have been completely changed.

Overall, the film's script is somewhat weak, but the original story has been presented with complete honesty. Speaking of acting, Rajneesh Duggal brings his role to life, while Karan Rajdan is a perfect fit as the lawyer. The film's length may be a bit long, but this was necessary to keep the story alive.

Former Justice Swati Chauhan deserves praise for her honesty in portraying her own judgment on a pressing issue.

If you enjoy good, heartwarming films, don't miss this film.
