Akot Congress' Dharna Movement on House Tax

Zafar Khan - Akot

Congress officials and senior leaders organized a one day Dharna Movement at Shri Shivaji Maharaj Chowk on the increase of house tax by the Municipality in Akot city and gave a strict warning to the Akot Municipality and said that the tax imposed on the people of Akot is a big burden on the common people. This is not a tax but Gabbar's tax which is a burden on the people of Akot city. Senior Congress leader Mahesh Sudhakar Rao Gangane strongly condemned this and responded to reduce the tax. He also responded that if the tax is not reduced then we will go to court. Congress' Majhi Nagar Sevaks also opposed this tax and the Municipality should pay attention to the needs of the common people and provide them facilities. Instead of solving the problems of the people by giving attention to the situation from the city to the streets, this tax is a burden on the people and it will not be tolerated. Such reactions were heard by Congress workers.
