During the Kejriwal-Sisodia regime, fees in major private schools in Delhi increased by 150 to 200 percent – Delhi BJP President

Delhi BJP President Mr. Virendra Sachdeva stated that during its ten years in power, the Aam Aadmi Party not only allowed elite private schools to act arbitrarily but also ensured that Science and Commerce were not taught at the higher secondary level in Delhi government schools, effectively forcing even the poorest of the poor to send their children to private schools.

Mr. Virendra Sachdeva said that despite running a government with a full majority for ten years, neither Arvind Kejriwal nor Ms. Atishi Marlena made any serious attempt to bring in laws to curb the arbitrariness of private schools, nor did they ever listen to the concerns of parents. But today, when the newly elected BJP-led Delhi government is introducing legislation to regulate private school fees, they have started a charade of seeking public suggestions on the education law.

The Delhi BJP President said that Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia are now shedding crocodile tears over rising school fees, but they must answer whether it is not true that under their rule, the fees in major private schools in Delhi rose by 150 to 200 percent.

Mr. Virendra Sachdeva added that the government led by Mrs. Rekha Gupta is committed to public aspirations. While we will stop the fee hikes in private schools, we will also improve the standard of government schools to such an extent in the next five years that even the middle class will proudly send their children to government schools.
