Consumers of Indore district benefitted the most in West Zone Electricity Company

MP West Zone Electricity Distribution Company is effectively implementing the Atal Griha Jyoti Yojana, which is the highest priority of the state government. During the last one bill month, 31.82 lakh consumers in Malwa Nimar have benefited. Electricity up to the first hundred units has been provided to these consumers at the rate of one rupee per unit. A total subsidy of Rs 147 crore has been provided to these consumers by the MP government during one month. Among the 15 districts of the West Zone Electricity Company area, 4.65 lakh electricity consumers of Indore district have benefited the most. As per the instructions of the Energy Minister of MP, Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar, feedback is also taken regularly after providing subsidy to the consumers. Madhya Pradesh West Zone Electricity Distribution Company is providing priority benefits to domestic consumers who consume 150 units in thirty days and an average of five units per day as per their eligibility for this scheme. In the last one bill month, 31 lakh 82 thousand consumers have benefited in the company area. 4.65 lakh consumers of Indore district have benefited from Griha Jyoti Yojana during the last one month. These eligible consumers of Indore district have been provided subsidy of about 18 crores. About 3 lakh consumers in Dhar district, 2.96 lakh in Ujjain district, 2.74 lakh in Khargone district have benefited from the scheme. Similarly, 2.45 lakh consumers in Ratlam district, 2.17 lakh in Dewas district, 2.28 lakh in Mandsaur district, 2 lakh in Khandwa, 1.99 lakh in Barwani district, about 1.75 lakh consumers in Jhabua district have been given the benefit of subsidy by providing electricity bill up to 100 units at Rs. 100. In other districts also, 90 thousand to 1.35 lakh domestic consumers have benefited. Managing Director of MP Power Corporation Indore, Anoop Kumar Singh said that under the scheme, domestic consumers consuming maximum 5 units per day are eligible. Those who use more than an average of five units of electricity per day do not get subsidy in a particular month.
