Prestige Management and Research Institute, Gwalior's Law Department successfully organized a two-day inter-mediation competition

The Law Department of Prestige Management and Research Institute successfully organized a two-day arbitration competition from 25 to 26 April 2025. The main objective of this program was to promote arbitration as an important alternative dispute resolution mechanism to the students of the Law Department and to provide a practical competitive platform to the students to hone their advocacy and analytical skills.

The chief guest of the program, Lieutenant General V.K. Sharma (EVSM), Pro Chancellor, University Gwalior, said that law students should pay special attention to ethics because it is very important for a good advocate to have ethics towards his client and he also wished the law students all the best for their future.

The guest of the program was Nidhi Patankar, Senior Advocate, M.P. High Court Gwalior told that earlier the field of law was taken as an option but today's young generation has started choosing law as a profession and he also told all the students the tricks of advocacy.

The guest of the program, Mr. F.A. Shah, Advocate, M.P. High Court told that all the students of Prestige's Law Department are very patient and aware of their work and he told that mediation is the need of the hour which is very important to be adopted.

In this competition, 61 teams of the Law Department itself had registered, out of which 52 teams actively participated in the competition. This competition was organized for two days in which preliminary and semi-final rounds were organized on 25 April and the final round was organized on 26 April. During this entire competition, about 15 eminent panels played the role of judges.

During the program, the Institute's Director Dr. Nishant Joshi, Co-Director Dr. Tarika Singh Sikarwar and Principal of Law Department Dr. Rakhi Singh Chauhan was present who explained the combination of mediation and advocacy to the students in detail during the program and also shared her important seniors.

In this program, Team 110 (Saloni Sikarwar, Prayanshi Tiwari), Runner-up Team 165 (Suhani Sharma, Priyanka Sharma), West Speaker Suhani Sharma, West Memorial Team 265 (Morvi Netam, Neha Sharma) were selected as the winners of the mediation competition. All the winners and runners-up were honored with cash prizes and trophies. During the program, Mahima Maheshwari, Preksha Yadav, Anirudh Gupta and Aashi Mangal, as the two-day inter-mediation core committee, made a special contribution in making the program successful and Kartike Saxena and Pankaj Pandey handled the social media very well. The program was conducted by Associate Professor Mansi Gupta and during the program all the Associate Professors of the Law Department Ashish Yadav, Associate Professor Abil Hussain, Associate Professor Shweta Singh and Associate Professor Rahul Srivastava were present. The report reading of the competition was done by the coordinator of the program Dr. Akshay Bhargava and in the end Dr. Hariom Awasthi expressed his gratitude to everyone.
