Mahesh Dhoundiyal - Delhi
The Kejriwal government’s betrayal of Dalits reached its peak. ?70 crore was allocated for the Dalit Talent Scheme in the budget, but not a single rupee was spent.

Between 2020-21 and 2023-24, the Kejriwal government announced an attractive budget of ?250 crore for minorities, backward classes, and the poor, but only ?4.2 crore was actually spent.

Under the Chief Minister Student Talent Scheme, the Kejriwal government allocated ?461 crore between 2020-21 and 2023-24 but spent less than 7%, only ?32.2 crore.

For the improvement of Dalit settlements, ?260 crore was allocated between 2020-21 and 2023-24, but the actual expenditure was only ?120.60 crore.

The Delhi government will soon present a list of deceptive schemes introduced by the previous Arvind Kejriwal government in the assembly. – Delhi BJP President

New Delhi, March 27: Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva stated at a press conference today that the Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal have continuously misled Delhi’s Dalit community and the poor by showcasing grand schemes, using them as a mere vote bank.

Over the past five years, the Kejriwal government introduced several schemes to attract Dalits and the poor politically, spending millions on their advertisements. However, in reality, Kejriwal only deceived them.

The press conference was conducted by Praveen Shankar Kapoor, head of Delhi BJP’s media department. He stated that the way the Delhi BJP President exposed Kejriwal’s betrayal of Dalits, backward classes, poor communities, and minorities proves that there is no section of society that Arvind Kejriwal has not deceived. Party spokespersons Shubhendu Shekhar Awasthi and Dr. Mamta Tyagi were also present at the conference.

Virendra Sachdeva stated that in 2020, the Arvind Kejriwal government introduced two schemes under the name “Jai Bhim Chief Minister Talent Development Scheme.” One scheme was for Dalits (Scheduled Castes), while the other was for minorities, backward classes, and the poor.

However, Dalits were significantly betrayed through this scheme:
• In 2020-21, ?40 crore was allocated, but only ?1.5 crore was spent.
• In 2021-22, ?50 crore was allocated, but only ?2.90 crore was spent.
• In 2022-23, ?70 crore was allocated, but not a single rupee was spent.
• In 2023-24, the budget allocation was reduced to ?20 crore, but only ?1 lakh was spent.

Similarly, the Kejriwal government also deceived minorities, the poor, and backward classes under the “Jai Bhim Chief Minister Talent Development Scheme”:
• In 2020-21, an attractive allocation of ?60 crore was made, but nothing was spent.
• In 2021-22, ?70 crore was allocated, but only ?4.2 crore was spent.
• In 2022-23, ?90 crore was allocated, but nothing was spent.
• In 2023-24, ?30 crore was allocated, but again, nothing was spent.

1 This means that between 2020-21 and 2023-24, the Kejriwal government made an attractive budget allocation of ?250 crore for minorities, backward classes, and the poor but only spent ?4.2 crore.

The Delhi BJP President further pointed out that the Kejriwal government, which makes grand claims about education development, allocated ?461 crore under the Chief Minister Student Talent Scheme between 2020-21 and 2023-24 but shamefully spent less than 7%, only ?32.2 crore.

He also mentioned the dire condition of civic amenities in Dalit settlements, which is well known. While the Kejriwal government announced schemes worth ?260 crore for improving these settlements between 2020-21 and 2023-24, in reality, only ?120.60 crore was spent.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said that they have urged Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to present a list of all such deceptive announcements by the Kejriwal government in the assembly.
