Fair traders staged a sit-in protest at the authority office

Under the banner of Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Gwalior Trade Fair Traders Association, today all the fair traders staged a sit-in protest with aggressive attitude outside the headquarters of Gwalior Trade Fair Authority regarding their various demands, problems and expectations. During this, slogans were raised against the policies of the Fair Authority and the harassment of fair traders.

Gwalior Trade Fair Traders Association President Mahendra Bhadkaria, Convenor Umesh Uppal, Joint President Anil Puniyani, Secretary Mahesh Mudgal, Working President Anuj Thansingh Gurjar, Convenor Pt. Vijay Kabju, Co-Joint President Jagdish Upadhyay Kalli Pandit Mahendra Sengar and other senior officials staged a sit-in protest and demanded in one voice that the gazette notification for giving 50 percent discount in RTO tax on purchasing vehicles from the automobile sector of Gwalior Trade Fair should be issued immediately. The hawkers standing in the middle of the road in various sectors of Gwalior Mela and obstructing the movement of tourists should be compulsorily sent to the hawkers zone, so that the elements taking advantage of the irregularity of the crowd and looting can be stopped.

The fair traders also expressed anger over the fact that the traders should not be harassed daily by the Food Department and other inspection teams, sometimes in the name of checking gas cylinders and sometimes in the name of checking food items. Secretary of Fair Authority T.R. Rawat reached among the agitating fair traders and assured them of immediate redressal of the demands through appropriate means regarding the memorandum.
