The Luv Kush Ramlila Committee paid tribute to Asrani, the legendary actor who had starred in over 350 films.

Arjun Kumar, President of the world-renowned Luv Kush Ramlila Committee, along with all the office bearers of the committee, paid tribute to Asrani, the renowned actor who had proved his mettle in over 350 films.

Paying tribute to the legendary actor Asrani, Arjun Kumar said that when we approached Asrani, who has reached the pinnacle of success in the film industry, at his residence in Mumbai to play the role of Narad Muni on the stage of Lord Shri Ram's Leela, he said that it is a matter of pride for me to play the role of Narad Muni on the stage of Luv Kush to be held in the historic grounds of the Red Fort. While playing the role in front of thousands of Ram devotees here, I will not get a single chance for retakes like in the shooting of films. Arjun Kumar says that in this very meeting he accepted our request and after this he played different roles in the Leela five times on the Leela stage. According to him, Asrani was so down to earth that he would always eat with other actors at the Leela venue. Even after rehearsing his role in the hotel, he would come to the Leela ground in the afternoon to rehearse his role. Asrani's craze among Ram devotees was such that on the day he had a role, Ram devotees would start gathering in the ground from the evening to get a glimpse of their favorite actor. Arjun Kumar says that Asrani never forgot his struggling days, whenever I met him, he would tell me about his struggling days in Mumbai. *Asrani had said in an interview that after playing the role of Narad in Luv Kush, whenever he went for a show abroad, people there too would request him to say Narayan Narayan instead of the jailer of the British era. Arjun Kumar has described Asrani's death as an irreparable loss not only for the Indian film industry but also for the Ramleela world.
