ONE BOOTLEGGER WHILE TRANSPORTING LARGE QUANTITY OF ILLICIT LIQUOR ARRESTED BY THE TEAM OF PS BURARI, NORTH DISTRICT

• 185 CARTONS (I.E. 7,500 QUARTER BOTTLES AND 420 BOTTLES) OF ILLICIT LIQUOR FOR SALE IN HARYANA ONLY RECOVERED.
• THE CARTONS OF ILLICIT LIQUOR WERE HIDDEN BY PLASTIC BAGS OF ANIMAL FEED.
• ONE TATA INTRA TEMPO USED FOR TRANSPORTATION SEIZED.  
 
INTRODUCTION:
In continuation to the on-going drive to keep a check on the persons indulged in bootlegging and drugging, especially in smuggling of illicit liquor from neighboring states to Delhi. Accordingly, a dedicated police team led by SI Jitender Singh comprising HC Amar Singh, HC Mukesh Nain, HC Amarjeet and HC Ashutosh has been working relentlessly and developing information about bootleggers, under the close supervision of Inspr. Girish Chander and guidance of Shri Shashi Kant Gaur, ACP/Sub-Division Burari, Delhi. The team gathered local intelligence to trace out the supply chain of illicit liquor smuggled from neighboring states of NCR. Besides, the team was also performing patrolling in the area during odd hours randomly to keep a check on such illegal activities.
 
INFORMATION, OPERATION & ACTION:
On 08.09.2025, team members HC Amar Singh, HC Mukesh Nain and HC Ashutosh were performing evening patrolling in the area of PS Burari during which they received a secret information through their reliable sources about transporting of huge quantity of illicit liquor. Acting on the secret information, the police team immediately rushed the place of information i.e. near Pillar No. 349, RCC Road, Burari and laid a strategic trap with the help of technical surveillance and ground level inputs. At about 10:30 PM, one Tempo, make Tata Intra coming from Mukundpur side was stopped by the police team at the instance of secret informant. On enquiry, the driver failed to give any satisfactory answer about his movement during late night. On checking the Tempo, some plastic bags containing animal feed were kept. When these plastic bags were removed, total 185 Cartons (i.e. 7,500 Quarter bottles of Santra Masaledar, Race-7 & Night Blue and 420 Bottles of Murthal No. 01) of illicit liquor for sale in Haryana only were found loaded, which were seized and taken into police possession. The driver identified as Gulvir Singh @ Guddu, @ Naveen, r/o District Bulland Shahar, Uttar Pradesh, age 26 years was apprehended. 
 
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 796/25 dated 09.09.2025 u/s 33/58 Delhi Excise Act was registered at PS Burari, Delhi and further investigation was taken up.  
 
INTERROGATION:
During interrogation, accused Gulvir Singh @ Guddu @ Naveen disclosed that he was lured for transporting of illicit liquor by one Sandeep, resident of Village Tikri, Delhi, for quick and easy money. Following his directions, accused Gulvir procured the stock of illicit liquor from Rai, Sonipat, Haryana, and loaded it into a Tata Intra tempo arranged by the main liquor supplier. He was supposed to deliver the stock to bootleggers in local Delhi areas as per the instructions of Sandeep. However, before he could do so, he was apprehended by the alert police team along with the illicit liquor loaded in the tempo.
 
Subsequently, at the instance of accused Gulvir, multiple raids were conducted at all possible hideouts of alleged Sandeep, main supplier of illicit liquor, but he was found absconding. Further investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are going to nab him as well as other associates indulged in this racket.     
           
PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON:
Gulvir Singh @ Guddu, @ Naveen, r/o District Bulland Shahar, Uttar Pradesh, age 26 years is a school dropout. He is a driver by profession. He was lured by his known person to earn easy money by supplying illicit liquor in the local areas of Delhi for which he was given Rs. 15,000/- per month. His previous criminal antecedents are being verified.  
 
RECOVERY:
1. Total 185 Cartons of illicit liquor. (i.e. 7,500 Quarter bottles of Santra Masaledar, Race-7 & Night Blue and 420 Bottles of Murthal No. 01) for sale in Haryana only).
2. One Tempo, make Tata Intra, used in transportation of illicit liquor. 
3. Eight plastic bags containing animal feed used to hide the illicit liquor.
