Senior Pandit Mustafa Arif of Dawoodi Bohra community informed that on Monday 8 September 2025, an innovative mass marriage ceremony of 414 couples was organized under the patronage and guidance of Dr. (T.U.S.) Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin Saheb, the religious guru of Dawoodi Bohra community. Young men and women from all over the world participated in this ceremony held at Badri Mahal, Saifi Mahal and Saifi Masjid in Mumbai. Their Nikah was solemnized by Syedna Saheb along with his princes.

Ramse Saifi of Dawoodi Bohra community is a mass marriage custom, which is an important part of the social and religious traditions of this community. This event is organized under the guidance of Syedna Saheb, the spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community. Its purpose is to make marriage accessible and respectable for the economically weaker sections of the society.

Rasme Saifi started during the time of 51st Daiul Mutlaq Dr Syedna Tahir Saifuddin and flourished during the time of 52nd Daiul Mutlaq Dr Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (RA). Rasme Saifi not only facilitates marriage but also strengthens unity, cooperation and religious values ??in the community.

Mass Marriage

In Rasme Saifi, many couples get married together. This event promotes community unity and reduces marriage expenses.

Organization and Aid:

In this practice, community and religious organizations provide financial assistance, clothes, jewelry and other essential items to the couples.

Simplicity and Equality

Rasme Saifi emphasizes simplicity, so that all couples can get married without financial burden.

Religious Significance

The wedding ceremony is performed according to Islamic and Bohra traditions, with the Nikah rituals being performed by the Syedna or his representative.

This practice promotes social inclusion and discourages practices like dowry.

The Nikah of senior journalist of Dawoodi Bohra community, daughter of Indore resident Rashida Hussain and son of Iqbal Pithawala, Hatim, was solemnized with Maria by Shahzada Hussain Bhai Sahab. I had the good fortune of attending this Nikah ceremony. May Allah Taala grant long life to the 53rd Daiul Mutlaq Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin Sahab, the organizer of such an ideal event. Amen Summa Amen.
