BRIEF OF INCIDENT:

On 30.08.2025, an information was received at PS Kamla Market that the caller had been robbed and assaulted near Ajmeri Gate. A team immediately reached the spot and recorded the statement of the victim. He stated that on 30.08.2025, he had hired a battery rickshaw at about 19:00 hrs from Shahganj Chowk to Ajmeri Gate Chowk. Apart from the driver, one other person was also sitting in the rickshaw. When he reached Ajmeri Gate in front of a School and alighted from the rickshaw, the rickshaw driver and the other person restrained and assaulted him. They forcibly robbed him of his purse containing around Rs. 20,000 - 25,000/- and a copy of his Aadhaar card, and fled, abandoning the e-rickshaw.

On the basis of his complaint, a case vide FIR No. 354/2025 U/s 309(4)/309(6)/3(5) BNS was registered at PS Kamla Market and investigation was taken up.

TEAM & OPERATION:

Given the gravity and sensitivity of the incident, a special team was formed consisting of ASI Ravinder, Ct. Yogesh and Ct. Shekhar under the supervision of SHO/Kamla Market and overall supervision of ACP Kamla Market.

The team immediately swung into action. CCTV footage of the area was scanned, and local intelligence inputs were developed. After sustained efforts and technical surveillance, the accused was identified, traced and apprehended. He was identified as Viresh @ Veeru R/o District Rampur, U.P.

From his possession, a case of Cash ?1200/- and Copy of Aadhaar Card of the complainant was recovered. The e-rickshaw used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

During sustained interrogation, the accused confessed his involvement in the offence and revealed that Shadab had borrowed the e-rickshaw from a person known to him, who was unaware of their intentions. Thereafter, the accused along with e-rickshaw driver Shadab committed the robbery to meet their personal expenses.

Efforts are ongoing to trace and apprehend the co-accused (e-rickshaw driver Shadab) and to recover the remaining robbed property.

Viresh @ Veeru R/o District Rampur, U.P.

Age: 21 years

FIR No- 0172/2025 u/s 118(1)/126(2)/351(2), PS Kamla Market

RECOVERY:

1. Cash ?1200/-

2. Copy of Aadhaar Card of the complainant
