I4C–MHA, Delhi Police and State Police Organise Mega Cybercrime Awareness Campaign Across Delhi-NCR

To mark the 79th Independence Day of India, the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs, in collaboration with Delhi Police, Gurugram Police, Noida Police, and Ghaziabad Police, organised a large-scale Cybercrime Awareness Campaign on August 31, 2025.

The campaign sought to spread awareness about cyber safety and reporting mechanisms through 79 simultaneous street plays performed across key public locations in Delhi-NCR. The initiative witnessed active participation from students of schools and colleges, who used theatre as a medium to convey powerful messages on cyber hygiene, safe digital practices, and the use of official cybercrime reporting channels.

45 street plays were organised across Delhi by the cyber police stations under Delhi Police, with significant coordination support from the PRO, Delhi Police.

17 plays were staged in Gurugram, 10 in Ghaziabad, and 7 in Noida, with active support of cybercrime teams of respective Commissionerate’s Police ensuring smooth execution.

40 student teams from schools and colleges across Delhi-NCR participated as artists, coordinated by Shri Rahul Khanna, who runs “Education Through Theatre.”

The day concluded with a closing ceremony at India International Centre, New Delhi, where officials from I4C-MHA, Delhi Police, Gurugram Police, Noida Police, and Ghaziabad Police felicitated the participating institutions and students for their contributions.

This unique and innovative initiative significantly boosted public awareness about the National Cybercrime Helpline Number 1930 and the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in). Citizens were also encouraged to follow I4C-MHA’s official social media handle “CyberDost”, which regularly shares tips and updates on safeguarding against cybercrime.

The campaign stands as a one-of-its-kind collaboration between I4C-MHA and State/UT Police, showcasing the power of community engagement in building a cyber-aware society.
