DRUG PEDDLER ARRESTED WITH 30.595 KG OF CONTRABAND ‘GANJA’ BY PS PATPARGANJ INDUSTRIAL AREA STAFF, EAST DISTRICT

Drug peddler nabbed with 30.595 kg of contraband ‘Ganja’ by staff of PS Patparganj Industrial Area
  Accused intercepted near ISBT Anand Vihar during patrolling
  Accused involved in drug supply for over a year; had earlier visited Delhi 9–10 times with consignments
  Contraband supplied by village contact; deliveries coordinated via WhatsApp calls and location sharing
 
BRIEF: -
         The vigilant staff of P.S. Patparganj Industrial Area, East District, Delhi apprehended a person during a checking drive near ISBT Anand Vihar on 28.08.2025 and recovered 30.595 kg of contraband ‘Ganja’ from his possession.
 
INCIDENT & INVESTIGATION: -  
             On 28.08.2025, while on area patrolling at ISBT Anand Vihar, Beat Officers HC Ajay Kumar and Ct. Ravi noticed a youth carrying four bags in a suspicious manner. On seeing the police team, he got frightened and attempted to flee, but was promptly intercepted. On checking the bags, meticulously packed contraband ‘Ganja’ was recovered. The accused was identified as Vivek Kumar @ Kittu (19 years), resident of Village Sikandra Dhanwan, PO Nadama Tola, PS Barh, District Patna, Bihar. The accused disclosed that the contraband had been handed over to him by one Suranjan Kumar Yadav, a native of his village, for delivery at Moti Nagar and Raghuveer Nagar, Delhi. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 466/25 dated 28.08.2025 under Section 20(b)(ii)(C) NDPS Act, PS Patparganj Industrial Area, has been registered. Investigation was taken up. 
            During the investigation, the accused further disclosed that he has been involved in the supply of ‘Ganja’ for over a year and had visited Delhi 9–10 times earlier with consignments. He further revealed that the contraband was handed over to him by one Suranjan Yadav, who directed him to deliver it in Delhi as per instructions. The accused and the supplier coordinated with the receivers in Delhi through WhatsApp calls and location sharing. For each consignment, the accused received ?10,000–20,000 from Suranjan Yadav. Further investigation to nab the suppliers and receivers is in progress.
 
MOTIVE OF ACCUSED: - 
             The accused revealed that he was lured into drug trafficking by Suranjan Yadav of his native village, who promised him easy money. Coming from a poor family background and having limited education, the accused found this illegal activity a quick source of income. He had been supplying ‘Ganja’ for more than a year and earned ?10,000–20,000 per consignment. Driven by financial gain, he repeatedly transported consignments from Bihar to Delhi. To avoid suspicion during travel, he was often accompanied by a minor boy, Shiv Shankar, who managed to escape before Vivek was intercepted by the police party. The accused usually travelled by bus, frequently changing routes from Bihar to Delhi to evade detection.
 
PROFILE OF ACCCUSED PERSON: -
        The accused, Vivek Kumar @ Kittu (19 years), resident of Village Sikandra Dhanwan, PO Nadama Tola, PS Barh, District Patna, Bihar, lives with his father (a farmer), mother, four sisters, and one brother. He studied up to class 6 and worked as a labourer for livelihood. 
 
RECOVERY: - 
? Total 30.595 kg Ganja (cannabis).
