A NOTORIOUS CRIMINAL AND DECLARED PROCLAIMED OFFENDER IN 05 CASES OF THEFT & ARMS ACT, ARRESTED BY ARSC, CRIME BRANCH

ACCUSED PREVIOUSLY INVOLVED IN 09 CASES OF THEFT & ARMS ACT REGISTERED IN DELHI & U.P

INTRODUCTION

A team of ARSC, Crime Branch, Delhi has arrested a notorious criminal, Wasim @ Babu (37 Yrs.) s/o Salim @ Bhondu r/o Delhi Gate, Meerut & Present Address - Meerut U.P. Accused was a wanted criminal who was absconding his arrest in 05 cases of theft and Arms act

On 15.08.2025, a secret information was received by ASI Mohd. Talim that accused Wasim @ Vaseem @ Babu, who is wanted and a declared proclaimed offender in many cases in Delhi is residing at Jakir colony, Meerut area and could be apprehended from there.

Accordingly, a team led by Insp K.K. Sharma comprising of ASI Mohd. Talim, ASI Shyam Singh, HC Gaurav Dagar and HC Lalit Chaudhary under the supervision of Sh. Pankaj Arora, ACP, ARSC was constituted to nab the absconding criminal.

A raid was conducted and accused Wasim @ Babu was apprehended from the area of Jakir colony, PS Lohiya Nagar, Meerut, U.P.

INTERROGATION

On investigation/interrogation, accused Wasim @ Babu disclosed that he used to frequently change his address to evade his arrest. Accused Wasim @ Babu was found declared P.O in the following 05 cases:

1. FIR No. 318/14, U/s 25 Arms Act, PS Seelampur, Delhi, by the Hon’ble Court of Ms. Aditi Garg, MM/NE/KKD Courts, on 06.07.2018.

2. FIR No. 64/14, U/s 379/34 IPC, PS Seelampur, Delhi by the Hon’ble Court of Ms. Aditi Garg, MM/NE/KKD Courts on 10.10.2018.

3. FIR No. 305/14, U/s 379/34 IPC, PS Seelampur, Delhi by the Hon’ble Court of Ms. Aditi Garg, MM/NE/KKD Courts on 22.03.2017.

4. FIR No 310/14 u/s 379 IPC, PS Seelampur, Delhi, by the Hon’ble Court of Ms. Richa Parihar, MM-02/NE/KKD Courts/Delhi on 16.03.2019.

5. FIR No. 207/14, U/s 379 IPC, PS Seelampur, by the Hon’ble Court of Ms. Richa Parihar, MM-02/NE/KKD Courts, Delhi on 19.01.2019.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED

The accused Wasim @ Babu (37 Yrs.) belongs to a lower-class family. He studied up to 8th class from Meerut. Due to poor financial condition of his family, he left studies and started work as labour. Thereafter, he came in contact of habitual criminals of the area and started committing crimes like snatching and theft. He is married and have 2 children from the said wedlock. At present, accused Wasim @ Babu is living at Jakir colony, Meerut, U.P. on rent and is working as e-rikshaw driver.
