ONE NOTORIOUS AUTOLIFTERS NABBED BY THE STAFF OF PS GHAZIPUR; ONE STOLEN BIKE RECOVERED FROM HIS POSSESSION

Dedicated Efforts of PS Ghazipur Team Led to Breakthrough Against Vehicle Thefts.

BRIEF: -

The dedicated team of PS Ghazipur, East District, Delhi has successfully apprehended a notorious criminal, Lakhan Kumar (25 years), resident of Ghazipur, Delhi. During the operation, one stolen motorcycle was recovered from his possession. With his arrest, the police have successfully worked out two cases of PS Ghazipur, one case of PS Mandawali, and two cases registered in District Gautam Budh Nagar, UP, thereby achieving a significant breakthrough against criminal activities in the region.

TEAM & INVESTIGATION: -

In recent days, several incidents of motor vehicle theft were reported in the jurisdiction of PS Ghazipur. Considering the seriousness of these cases, a dedicated team was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. Tilak Chand Bist, ACP/Madhu Vihar. The team, led by Insp. Brahm Dutaa, comprised HC Dinesh Kumar, HC Jitender Nagar, HC Arvind Kumar, HC Monu, and Ct. Ajay, and was tasked with developing leads and tracing the offenders.

On 18/08/2025, a case regarding the theft of a Hero Splendor motorcycle was reported at PS Ghazipur. Acting swiftly, a dedicated police team was deployed to investigate the matter. During the inquiry, the team meticulously examined the CCTV footage from the place of occurrence and pursued all possible leads. As a result of their sincere efforts, the team successfully apprehended the auto-lifter from the Paper Market area, Ghazipur, Delhi. He was subsequently identified as Lakhan Kumar (25 years), R/o Ghazipur, Delhi. During sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to his involvement in four additional cases of auto-lifting, thereby exposing his active criminal conduct. Further investigation of the case is in progress.

MODOUS OPERANDI: -

The accused used to roam around in residential and market areas, particularly targeting two-wheelers parked at crowded or isolated places. After identifying vulnerable motorcycles, he would break the lock/ignition system and flee with the stolen vehicle. Subsequently, he either used the stolen bikes for personal mobility or planned to dispose them off for easy money. His earnings were largely spent on sustaining his addiction to Ganja.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED: -

The accused has been identified as Lakhan Kumar, 25 years, a resident of Ghazipur, Delhi. He studied up to 8th standard and used to work as a laborer to earn his livelihood. He is also a habitual consumer of Ganja, which influenced his indulgence in criminal activities.

PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENT: -

The accused Lakhan Kumar has been previously involved in 08 criminal case.
