SNATCHING CASE SOLVED WITHIN A SHORT SPAN OF 24 HOURS BY THE TEAM OF PS BARA HINDU RAO, NORTH DISTRICT

  • TWO SNATCHERS WERE IDENTIFIED AND ARRESTED WITH HELP OF TECHNICAL ANALYSIS AND HUMAN INTELLIGENCE.
  •  SNATCHED MOBILE PHONE, MAKE SAMSUNG AND SCOOTY USED IN COMMISSION OF OFFENCE RECOVERED.
 
INCIDENT:
On 05.08.2025 at about 09:30 PM, a PCR call regarding snatching of mobile phone from a person was received at PS Bara Hindu Rao, Delhi. On receipt of the call, the local police reached the spot where complainant Aman r/o Delhi, age 35 years (who runs a plastic material shop in Sadar Bazar) told that on 05.08.2025 after shutting down his shop, he was on the way to his home. At about 09:15 PM, when he reached near DCM Chowk and took out his mobile phone to talk someone. Meanwhile, two persons riding on a scooty came there and the pillion rider suddenly snatched his mobile phone, make Samsung and both of them fled away from the spot.
 
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 316/25 dated 06.08.25 u/s 304(2)/3(5) BNS was registered at PS Bara Hindu Rao and the investigation was taken up.
 
TEAM & INVESTIGATION:
In view of gravity of the case, a dedicated police team comprising ASI Praveen, HC Saddam Hussain and Ct Dharamveer was constituted under the close supervision of Inspr. Rajeev Ranjan, SHO/PS Bara Hindu Rao and guidance of Ms. Vidushi Kaushik, ACP/Sub-Division, Sadar Bazar, Delhi. 
 
During investigation, intensive search operation by mounting technical surveillance and human intelligence was put into swing. More than 50 CCTV cameras leading to the place of occurrence were scanned and it was revealed that two persons riding on a scooty had committed the above offence and both were seen escaping from the spot towards Azad Market Bara Hindu Rao. Clear photographs of both accused persons were extracted from the CCTV footages and shared with the local secret informers. On the basis of ground level inputs, the pillion rider was identified as Mohd. Arshad @ Makkhi, r/o Bagichi Achchheji, Bara Hindu Rao. The dedicated police team continued their sincere efforts in search of the accused persons. 
 
Finally, with the continuous and tireless efforts of the team, the whereabouts of the identified accused and his associate were revealed at Ram Bagh Road, near Azad Market Chowk. Immediately, a raid was conducted and both the accused persons Mohd. Arshad @ Makkhi and Mohd. Anas were apprehended on 06.08.25 during late evening hours along-with the snatched mobile phone of the victim and Scooty, make Suzuki Access used in crime. 
 
INTERROGATION:
During interrogation, both the accused persons Mohd. Arshad @ Makkhi and Mohd. Anas confessed about to their involvement in the snatching of a mobile phone from a person at DCM Chowk on the night of August 5, 2025, by using a scooty. They further disclosed that they have studied together in the same school up to 9th standard and later worked as laborers. However, dissatisfied with their earnings due to their drinking habits, they devised a plan to snatch the smart phones of gullible people. Their intention was to sell the stolen/snatched phones and purchase new branded smart phones for personal use. Before they could execute their plan further, they were apprehended by the alert police team.
 
PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:
1. Mohd. Anas, r/o Gali Shakan, Bara Hindu Rao, age 22 years.
2. Mohd. Arshad, r/o Bagichi Achchheji, Bara Hindu Rao, age 27 years.
 
RECOVERY:
1. One mobile phone, make Samsung. 
2. One Scooty, make Suzuki Access, used in commission of offence. (Owned by accused Anas).
