BRIEF: -

Under the ongoing Operation Kavach aimed at curbing illegal activities in the area, the staff of P.S. Patparganj Industrial Area, East District, Delhi, apprehended a person near Pillar No. 219, Road No. 56, ISBT Anand Vihar, Delhi, and recovered one illegal country-made pistol from his possession.

TEAM & OPERATION: -

On 09.08.2025, HC Kanti and Ct. Sanjay/DHG were deployed for picket checking duty in the jurisdiction of P.S. PIA. While checking vehicles and frisking occupants, HC Kanti stopped a Maruti car bearing registration No. DL2CBD** for inspection. The driver was asked to step out, and during his cursory search, a country-made pistol was recovered from his waist. The police team displayed alertness and overpowered him on the spot. Upon being questioned about the possession of the weapon, the individual failed to provide a satisfactory explanation or produce any valid license. On examination, the pistol was found to be without any live cartridges in the magazine. During the enquiry, the accused was identified as Rahul, resident of Gazipur Village, Delhi, aged 31 years. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 439/25 dated 09.08.2025 under Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act was registered at P.S. PIA. Further investigation is in progress.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON: -

The accused, Rahul, aged 31 years, R/o Gazipur Village, Delhi, where he lives with his family. He is married and has two children. Rahul is educated up to the 10th standard and earns his livelihood by renting out battery rickshaws.

RECOVERY: -

• One illegal country made pistol.

• One Maruti Baleno Car, No. DL2CBD.
