Accused Booked for Circulating Obscene Content and Blackmailing Under IT Act.

The staff of PS Cyber/NWD has arrested an accused namely, Prabhat Chaudhary @ Piyush @ Peeyush S/o Ajay Kumar R/o Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, Age-28 Years and solved a case registered vide FIR No. 25/25 U/s 67A IT Act Cyber Police Station, North West District, Delhi. 01 mobile phone used in crime has been recovered from his possession. He intended to blackmail the complainant’s sister to fulfill his personal needs and demands.

• Brief Facts and Incident Details:-

An FIR No. 25/25 under Section 67A of the IT Act was registered at PS Cyber Police Station NWD, on the complaint of Shri Priyanshu Mawana, who alleged that a known individual had sent him sexually explicit images and videos of his sister via Instagram. The accused was reportedly blackmailing his sister using her private photographs and videos, threatening to make them public if his demands were not met.

• Team & Investigation:-

Considering the gravity of the offence and nature of the incident, a dedicated team led by Inps. Dinesh Dahiya SHO/PS Cyber comprising of Insp. Vinay, HC Jasveer, Ct. Krishan was constituted under the supervision of Sh. Rajeev Kumar, ACP/Cyber, NWD to nab the culprits.

The team conducted a raid at the accused person's registered address in Uttar Pradesh; however, he was not found residing there. Further, his digital footprints were thoroughly traced, and relevant domains were examined. After mounting sustained manual and technical surveillance, the accused, Prabhat Chaudhary @ Piyush @ Peeyush S/o Ajay Kumar R/o Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, Age-28 Years, was successfully identified and apprehended. He was found to be a close family member of the complainant and had been sending obscene and sexually explicit content of the complainant’s sister after his demands were not met. To conceal his identity and activities, he used multiple Instagram accounts, kept his mobile phone switched off, and shared the content using “View Once” settings. Upon his arrest one mobile phone was recovered from his possession.

During interrogation, Prabhat Chaudhary @ Piyush admitted his involvement in the offence and disclosed that he intended to blackmail the complainant’s sister to fulfill his personal needs and demands.

Further efforts are being made to trace his associates and his possible involvements in other cases also.

• Recovery:-

01 mobile phones used in crime.

Further investigation of the case is in progress.
