INTRODUCTION:
 
The Crime Branch of Delhi Police continues its relentless drive against the manufacture and sale of duplicate/counterfeit products. In a commendable demonstration of commitment and investigative excellence, a dedicated team led by Inspector Ajay Gahlawat, under the overall supervision of ACP/NR-I, Ashok Sharma, has successfully busted a racket dealing in counterfeit two-wheeler spare parts and engine oils. 
During the operation, the team recovered a large quantity of duplicate/counterfeit spare parts, engine oils, and packing materials bearing the trademarks of reputed automobile companies M/s Honda, M/s ASK, and M/s TVS Automobiles. The action has not only safeguarded the interests of genuine manufacturers but also reinforced public trust in law enforcement efforts to curb such economic offences. In connection with this case, five persons have been apprehended and booked under FIR No.178/25 dated 15.07.2025 under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 63 of the Copyright Act at Police Station Crime Branch, Delhi.
The Delhi Police remains committed to eradicating counterfeit trade and protecting the rights of consumers and legitimate businesses.
INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION:
         Specific intelligence was received regarding the manufacture and sale of counterfeit/spurious products such as two-wheeler spare parts and engine oil bearing the trademarks of reputed companies M/s Honda Motorcycle, M/s ASK, and M/s TVS Motors. Acting on the directions of senior officers, the information was further developed, and contact was established with the authorized legal representatives of the aforementioned companies.
         Accordingly, on 15.07.2025, a dedicated team led by Inspector Ajay Gahlawat and comprising SI Sudeep, SI Prem, ASI Pawan, HC Vikesh, HC Akash, and W/HC Kusum was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. Ashok Sharma, ACP/NR-I, constituted by DCP/Crime Branch, Sh. Harsh Indora, IPS to nab the criminals. The team, accompanied by Sh. Ram Niwas, Authorized Legal Representative of M/s Honda Motorcycle, M/s ASK, and M/s TVS Motors (R/o Village Sandal Khurd, District Sonipat, Haryana), conducted a raid at Khasra No. xx/xxx, Village Madanpur Dabas, Delhi based on information from a secret informer. 
         During the raid, a significant quantity of counterfeit two-wheeler engine oils, empty bottles, and packing materials bearing the branding of M/s Honda and M/s TVS Automobiles was recovered.
         Subsequently, on 25.07.2025, following further leads provided by the authorized legal representatives of M/s Honda Motorcycle, M/s ASK, and M/s TVS Motors, another raid was conducted at Shop No. xxxx/x, Nai Wala, Karol Bagh, Delhi, and again at Khasra No. xx/xxx, Village Madanpur Dabas, Delhi. This operation led to the recovery of a substantial stock of counterfeit two-wheeler spare parts and packaging materials of M/s Honda and M/s ASK.
         These coordinated operations have dealt a significant blow to the illegal counterfeit trade and reaffirm the Delhi Police Crime Branch’s commitment to safeguarding consumer rights and brand integrity.
INTERROGATION:
         During sustained interrogation, accused Shubham Panjiyar (Age 29 years, R/o R-2/44, Rama Park, Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar, Delhi) confessed to being involved in the sale and purchase of counterfeit vehicle spare parts since 2020. He also disclosed his prior involvement in a similar case registered at PS Nihal Vihar under the Copyright Act. He further disclosed the name of co-accused persons and same were apprehended.
PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED:
1. SHUBHAM PANJIYAR
• A habitual offender, previously involved in similar offences.
• Educational qualification: 10th standard.
• Resident of Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar, Delhi.
PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENT:
• FIR No. 1214/24, u/s 318(4) BNS & 63 Copyright Act, PS Nihal Vihar.
• Present Case: FIR No. 178/25, PS Crime Branch.
2. HIMANSHU KAWATRA
• A graduate by qualification.
• Engaged in trading of counterfeit products of M/s Honda, ASK, etc., since 2018.
• Operating from Naiwala, Karol Bagh, Delhi.
• Resident of Sector-8, Rohini, Delhi.
3. NAVEEN @ DEEPAK TANEJA
• Brother-in-law of Shubham Panjiyar.
• Actively supported and assisted in counterfeit operations.
• Studied up to 8th standard.
• Previously operated from Swarn Park, Mundka.
4. RAMAKANT CHAURASIYA
• Age 55 years, R/o  Block S, Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar, Delhi.
• Supplier of counterfeit plastic bottles branded as M/s Honda, TVS, etc.
5. SHYAM NARAYAN
• Age 53 years, R/o Kunwar Singh Nagar, Nangloi, Delhi.
• Supplier of counterfeit Master Packing material of branded as M/s Honda, TVS, etc.
RECOVERY:
         During the raids, the following large quantity of counterfeit automobile spare parts, engine oils, and packaging materials bearing the trademarks of Honda, TVS Motors, and ASK were recovered from the identified premises:

• Bottle Caps – 2,850
• Cap Foils – 7,000
• Engine Oil Bottles (filled) – 557
• Stickers – 700
• Master Packing Boxes – 90
• 800 ml Empty Bottles – 900
• Brake Cables – 50
• Brake Shoes – 441
• Gaskets – 200
• Rubber Bushes – 200
• Oil Filters – 200
• Empty Cardboard Boxes – 355
• Stickers – 2,800
• Packaging Material – 1,200 pieces
• Monograms – 1,100
• FAKE TVS-MARKED ITEMS:
• Bottle Caps – 3,400 + 5,000 (different sites)
• Tape Rolls – 30
• 900 ml Empty Bottles – 2,790
• Master Packing Boxes – 420
• Stickers – 1,980
• Empty Bottles with Stickers – 60
• FAKE ASK-MARKED ITEMS:
• Brake Shoes – 1,400

• 01 Bottle Cap Sealing Machine
This recovery highlights the massive scale of the counterfeit operation and the meticulous efforts of the Crime Branch in dismantling the network.
CONCLUSION:
          The operation reflects the Crime Branch's strong commitment to curb counterfeit trade and protect public safety. A large quantity of fake automobile spare parts and engine oils worth approximately Rs.10 lakhs was seized, preventing their circulation in the market. Further investigation is underway to identify the broader network behind this illegal activity. 
Delhi Police reiterates its zero-tolerance policy towards counterfeit and trademark infringement-related crimes and assures continued action against those involved in such illegal activities. Further investigation is underway to identify the full extent of the network and trace the source of these counterfeit goods.
