Kuljeet Singh Chahal distributes sweets among Safai Sevaks on receiving Super Swachh League City Award

Inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji’s “Swachh Bharat Mission” and “Viksit Bharat @2047”, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has set a new benchmark in cleanliness and urban governance. In recognition of its efforts, NDMC has been declared the cleanest city in the country under Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 and conferred with the prestigious “Super Swachh League City Award.”

On this remarkable achievement, NDMC Vice Chairperson Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal distributed sweets among sanitation workers today at Palika Kendra, New Delhi, and extended heartfelt congratulations to everyone involved. He said that this award is a matter of pride for the entire NDMC team and every individual who has contributed to building a clean, green, and healthy capital city.

Describing the award as a motivational milestone in line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji’s vision of Swachh Bharat and Viksit Bharat @2047, Shri Chahal reiterated NDMC’s continued commitment to sustaining cleanliness, enhancing green cover, and adopting cutting-edge sanitation technologies.

Shri Chahal further informed that NDMC was honoured with the “Super Swachh League City Award” by Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu and Hon’ble Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs Shri Manohar Lal Khattar during the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards Ceremony held on Thursday at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

He stated that the award was jointly received by NDMC Chairperson Shri Keshav Chandra, Delhi Government’s Urban Development Minister Shri Ashish Sood, and himself – reflecting a spirit of collective effort. NDMC has been recognised as a "Super Swachh League City" in the category of cities with a population between 50,000 and 3 lakhs, acknowledging its unwavering commitment, innovation, and leadership in delivering world-class sanitation, solid waste management, and green initiatives.

Shri Chahal also expressed his sincere gratitude to the residents and visitors of the NDMC area, stating, “This honour does not belong to just one institution, but to every Swachhta Sevak, citizen, and stakeholder who has actively contributed to realising the dream of Swachh Bharat. Let us all work together to strengthen the foundation of Viksit Bharat @2047.”

On this occasion, along with the Safai Sevaks, Sanitary Inspectors from various circles, supervisors, Chief Medical Officers, and Smt Shakuntala Shrivastava Medical Officer of Health were also present.
