Grand Closing Ceremony of 70 Years of Achievements

Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) organised the grand closing ceremony of the year-long series of events to mark the completion of its 70 years on 23 July 2025 at K.D. Jadhav Wrestling Hall, Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi. The function was attended by National Volunteer Association's Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Bhagwat as the Chief Guest, Union Minister Mansakh Mandaviya as the Special Guest and BMS President Haranmay Pandey as the Chairperson. The function started with the welcome address by Idujjamwal, President Delhi University, BMS. He warmly welcomed all the visitors and guests. He said that earlier in 1970 the first session was held in Delhi and today BMS-70 is being organised in Delhi, it is a matter of pride for all the activists. All India General Secretary Shri Ravindra Haque, while sharing information about various events held throughout the year from the stage, told how Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh has maintained organisational expansion and ideological stability while maintaining social interest in the last seven decades. He also said that closing is not an end, it is a new milestone - the journey of the organisation will continue. Shri Hemte paid tributes to the great personalities and workers who devoted their lives in taking the organization to this height. He said, on 23rd July 2024, the Mazdoor Sangh will enter its 70th year, which started from the historic place Bhopal, from where the work of BMS started. Shri Hemte said that Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh has successfully completed its 70 years of tenure by working on the principle of national, industrial and labour interest. The resolution taken by the organisation to keep transparency in its core principles, collective decision making and complete distance from party politics became the basis of its long term success.

BMS National President Harinamaya Pant said that the labour union was in second place before 1989 but since then BMS has remained the top labour organisation of the country. He said that our organisation is providing leadership to youth and women not only in the country but also abroad. In 1996, the BMS led the way in the G20 and made the world aware of the Indian labour ideology. He said, today BMS is actively working in the country through 28 countries, 44 federations and 6630 organisations. Not limited to India, the presence of BMS in Nepal is also an important sign of the international expansion of the organisation. Shri Panjya Ji said that the organization considers its 70th year as a milestone and not the end. Its workers and leadership are confident that this organization will also make its impressive presence felt on the world stage in its 100th year. Shri Veer Bhagaye Ji, All India Working Committee Member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh also addressed the function. He said that this is not just a function but a movement and ideology. This program is showing the fear of the workers. It has now become an important organization of the society. Special guest of the program, Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, while praising the working style of the Mazdoor Sangh, said that the working style of the Mazdoor Sangh teaches and inspires. The Minister said that in the long span of 70 years, BMS has become the biggest organization of the country and an important organization of the world. BMS is being respected in the world. In the ceremony, National Volunteer Association President Dr. Mohan Bhagwat guided the workers. He said that this is not only a time for celebration but also an opportunity for introspection. We should think about what we have done till now and in which direction we have to move forward. There is a need to give a new labor model to the world, and BMS should fulfill this responsibility. The reputation of the organisation today is based on the dedication of the first generation, the expansion of the second generation and now the efforts of the third and fourth generations. This spirit should continue in the future as well. He said, for us the pain of the workers is the pain of the society. A person comes to BMS as a beneficiary and leaves as a helper. In a major initiative towards technological empowerment of the organization, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh also launched a new digital platform ‘e-Karyata’ App which will integrate the activities, functions and communication of the organization technologically. Also, a short film based on the 70 years journey of BMS was screened. On the same occasion, a special edition of Organiser Weekly magazine describing the journey of BMS was also released. In this important function, along with the national level union officials, Presidents of different states of BMS, General Secretary, Federation Leaders, Executive Members, representatives from Nepal, Chief Minister of Delhi Smt. Rekha Gupta, other Ministers and thousands of employees from Delhi-NCR were present. Enthusiasm, discipline and organization was seen throughout the function.

A glimpse of unwavering dedication towards the cause of the nation was clearly visible. The function concluded with the national anthem, in which thousands of activists present reiterated their resolve for labour welfare, social justice and building of a self-reliant India.
