Agra. Famous Jain Muni Shri 108 Saumya Sagar Ji Maharaj in his important Mangal Pravachan shed light on the relationship between modernity and spirituality. He said that modernity is often seen as the opposite of spiritual values, while this notion is not correct.

Muni Shri clarified that "Modernity does not trouble spirituality, but rather provides an opportunity to encourage it." He further said that a person wants to become modern, but until he does not become spiritual, he cannot take the benefits of that modernity in the true sense.

Munishri said, "When a person starts realizing how modern he is becoming, then he asks himself, is he making any mistake in this process?" He also said that modernity is not just external development, but it can also be made a means for spiritual progress.
