PROCLAIMED OFFENDER HAVING INVOLVEMENT IN 32 CASES OF ROBBERY, THEFT & ARMS ACT ARRESTED

With the arrest of Hunny @ Ajay, Age 36 yrs r/o Sultanpuri, Delhi, the team of Inter-State Cell, Crime Branch has successfully apprehended a Proclaimed Offender (PO) and Bad Character of PS Sultanpuri, earlier involved in 32 cases of theft, robbery, snatching and Arms Act cases.
INCIDENT:
A case vide FIR No. 181/2018, u/s 392/397/34 IPC was registered at PS Janakpuri, Delhi. On 09.05.2018, at around 6:30 PM, while traveling by bus from Sec-23, Rohini to Uttam Nagar, the complainant was robbed at knife-point by two individuals. Out of fear, he remained silent during the robbery. However, as the accused attempted to flee, the complainant raised an alarm and with the help of the public, both accused were overpowered in the bus. Both were arrested and sent to judicial custody. However, Hunny @ Ajay failed to appear before the Hon’ble Court during trial and was declared a Proclaimed Offender.
TEAM AND EFFORTS TO TRACE ACCUSED:
A dedicated team comprising Insp. Mahipal, SIs Ankit, Gaurav, ASI’s Satyaveer, Suresh and Tarun, HCs’ Naveen, Sunil, Vinod & Ct. Dharm under the supervision of Sh. Ramesh Chander Lamba ACP/ISC, was formed to arrest the accused person. Manual inputs indicated the accused had met former prison inmates and was planning fresh criminal activity. On 14.06.2025, eventually, actionable intelligence was received to HC Sunil regarding his presence in Jagdama Market, Sultanpuri. The team immediately moved to the location and despite the accused sensing the police presence and attempting to flee, the team successfully apprehended.
INTERROGATION AND PROFILE OF ACCUSED:
* Educational Qualification: 5th class dropout
* Background: Addicted to psychotropic substances; involved with criminal elements from an early age
* First Crime: 2013 – stabbed a person for a mobile phone
* Gradually escalated from theft to armed robberies
* Developed notoriety in the local criminal sub-culture
* Involved in 32 cases including theft, robbery, snatching, Arms Act etc.
