22-Year-Old Arrested, Stolen Goods Recovered in Swift Action by Cyber Cell

INTRODUCTION  
 
A dedicated team of the Cyber Cell, Crime Branch led by Inspector Sandeep Singh under the supervision of Sh. Ramesh Lamba, ACP/Cyber Cell, has successfully apprehended a 22-year-old, a permanent resident of West Bengal. The action was taken based on credible secret information, on which the Cyber Cell team quickly moved in, leading to the arrest of the accused and the recovery of the stolen property. 
 
FACTS OF THE CASE: 
The investigation commenced following the registration of E-FIR No. 80044220 on May 5, 2025, at PS Ranjit Nagar, Central District, under Section 305 BNS, pertaining to the theft of an Asus Vivobook laptop (Model M513IA). New intelligence emerged during the ongoing investigation, indicating the potential whereabouts of the stolen property and the suspect. 
INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION: 
Acting on a secret tip-off received by ASI Sandeep Tyagi (No. 2975/D), it was revealed that Amritanshu Tiwari, aged 22, was in possession of multiple stolen laptops and was residing in the Gur Mandi area of Rajpura, Delhi.  
A specialized team was constituted, comprising ASI Sandeep Tyagi, HC Bhupender, HC Akshay and HC Sachin Tomar. This team, under the direct supervision of Inspector Sandeep Singh and the overall guidance of ACP Sh. Ramesh Lamba, proceeded to the identified location in private vehicles, accompanied by the secret informer. 
The suspect, Amritanshu Tiwari, was successfully apprehended from Rajpura, Delhi. From his possession, one Asus Vivobook laptop (Model M513IA, Met Black Color) was recovered. This laptop was confirmed to be the one reported stolen in the e-FIR. 
INTERROGATION: 
Upon questioning on the spot, the accused failed to give a satisfactory explanation regarding the ownership of the laptop. During sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed that he is a third-year engineering student at Delhi University and had become addicted to drugs. To fund his drug expenses, he started stealing laptops, primarily targeting libraries. He also admitted to a prior laptop theft from a library in Mukherjee Nagar, for which no formal complaint has been lodged till date. Accordingly, the accused has been arrested. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
