Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand Shri Anand Bardhan met various Secretaries of the Government of

India regarding various issues related to the development of the state.

Assurance received for expansion of Pantnagar Airport

Tender process will be started within six months

The Chief Secretary met Civil Aviation Secretary Shri Sameer Kumar Sinha, in which the expansion of Pantnagar Airport was discussed. Secretary Shri Sinha assured that the bidding process for the construction of Pantnagar Airport will be started in the next six months.

The Chief Secretary also requested for the facility of late night landing at Dehradun Airport. He also requested for restarting the heli ambulance service and strengthening the Pithoragarh Airport, on which the Civil Aviation Secretary assured positive action.

In the context of the helicopter crash landing incident in Kedarnath, the Chief Secretary demanded appropriate action from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) keeping in view the safety of the passengers, so that recurrence of such incidents can be prevented in future.

Request made for environmental clearance of projects related to ropeway and hydropower projects

The Chief Secretary met Forest and Environment Secretary Shri Tanmay Kumar and requested to provide forest clearance (wild life clearance/environment clearance) for Tyuni-Plasu hydropower project, Rishikesh-Neelkanth ropeway project, and Sirkari Bhyol Rupasiya Bagad hydropower project.

Request was made to extend the Regional Traffic Transit System beyond Delhi Meerut to Rishikesh for traffic management

The Chief Secretary met Shri Srinivas Katikithala, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and requested to extend the RRTS (Regional Rapid Transit System) beyond Delhi-Meerut route to Haridwar and Rishikesh. This proposal was given for implementation on the basis of testing and visibility report. Also requested for suggestions to solve the problems of traffic jam and public transport in Dehradun city.

Request to release the funds to be given to the state government for drinking water and solid waste management

The Chief Secretary held a meeting with Drinking Water and Sanitation Secretary Shri Ashok KK Meena and requested to release the pending amount of about ? 3000 crore under Jal Jeevan Mission in the state. Also, under the Swachh Bharat Mission, special attention was given to the solid sanitation management system during the Char Dham Yatra.

Exemption was demanded in the fee paid to the Air Force during disaster in the state

The Chief Secretary met Defense Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh and requested to waive the fee payable for the services of the Indian Air Force under the disaster and relief operations of the state.

Requested to provide 90% cost assistance to the MSME sector like the North-Eastern states

The Chief Secretary met MSME Secretary Shri Subhash Chandra Lal Das and requested for up to 90 percent cost assistance amount from the Central Government to promote the MSME sector in the state of Uttarakhand like the North-Eastern states. Request was made to develop centers like flat factory and tool room and technology development center, testing packaging center in the state.

Urged to promote the umbrella brand House of Himalaya of local products of Uttarakhand

Chief Secretary Shri Anand Bardhan met Rural Development Secretary Shri Shailesh Kumar Singh and requested to release the pending amount of Rs 270 crore under MNREGA. Apart from this, a proposal was made to develop 'House of Himalaya' as a Center of Excellence, so that the handicrafts, products and cultural heritage of Uttarakhand can get global recognition. Along with this, a request was made to open outlets of 'House of Himalaya' at major international airports like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata.

To make Uttarakhand an accessible film destination, a request was made to host a film festival.

The Chief Secretary met Information and Broadcasting Secretary Shri Sanjay Jaju and sought support towards hosting a national level film festival in Uttarakhand and encouraging shooting of more and more films in the state. Apart from this, he met Expenditure Secretary Shri V. Vualanam and requested to provide special financial assistance for the upcoming Haridwar Kumbh, so that the event can be held in a grand and well-organized manner.

The Chief Secretary met senior officials and Advisor of the Prime Minister's Office (Hon'ble Prime Minister) and requested for various needs of the state such as financial assistance for Kumbh-2027, expansion and strengthening of civil aviation sector etc.

Major vehicle manufacturers invited to invest in Uttarakhand

Chief Secretary Shri Anand Vardhan met representatives of major vehicle manufacturers (Tata Motors, Mahindra, Hyundai, KIA Motors, GSW etc.) at Uttarakhand Niwas and discussed in detail about the electric vehicle policy implemented in various states of the country. In this regard, investment possibilities were discussed to promote the EV sector in the state of Uttarakhand.
