Safdarjung Hospital Gets Accessible Toilets in Landmark CSR Initiative by SBI Capital Markets Ltd

Accessible toilet facilities were inaugurated today at Safdarjung Hospital in a ceremony led by Dr. Sandeep Bansal Medical Superintendent VMMC &SJH and Mr. Mukul Modi, Executive Vice President & Mr S K Arora Sr Vice President SBI CAPS in the presence of  CSR teams. This initiative, funded by SBI Capital Markets Ltd as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program, represents a significant step toward creating inclusive healthcare infrastructure for persons with disabilities (PWDs).

The project was spearheaded by Prof. Amita Sahni, Professor and Consultant, who is herself a person with disability. Prof. Sahni took the initiative after understanding firsthand the daily challenges and difficulties faced by PWDs in accessing basic facilities at healthcare institutions. The initiative is being implemented by Anuprayas NGO, which specializes in creating accessible infrastructure solutions.

Dr. Sandeep Bansal remarked, "This inauguration marks more than just the opening of accessible facilities – it represents our commitment to dignity and inclusion. Healthcare should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their physical abilities.

Ms. Mukul Modi, Executive Vice President stated, "At SBI Capital Markets, we believe that true corporate responsibility means addressing the gaps that society often overlooks. These accessible toilets are not just infrastructure – they are a bridge to dignity and independence for persons with disabilities. We are proud to contribute to making healthcare facilities more inclusive."

About the Initiative

The accessible toilet facilities have been designed keeping in mind the specific needs of persons with disabilities, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and providing a safe, dignified experience for all users. This CSR initiative by SBI Capital Markets Ltd  reflects the company's commitment to creating an inclusive society where infrastructure barriers do not prevent anyone from accessing essential services.

The project was developed through collaborative efforts between the hospital CSR Committee,  Anuprayas NGO as the implementing agency, and SBI Capital Markets Ltd  team, demonstrating the power of partnership in driving meaningful social change.
