Poison in the form of pollution has dissolved in the air, water and soil of Meghnagar

Pollution Control Board claims that strict action will be taken against those who spread pollution

Rahim Sherani Hindustani - Jhabua

In the industrial area of ??Meghnagar, M/s SMO Ferro Allies Pro Limited Company Meghnagar held a public hearing with selected people of the city for environmental approval

In this public hearing, aware journalists and social workers of the city welcomed the units and factories being set up in the industrial area of ??the city

But opposed many of the factories spewing poison which are openly playing with the health of the people by spoiling the air of the city and the region

Ever since chemical factories were established in Meghnagar, the air, water and soil here have become barren.

The smelly and polluted smoke coming out of the chimneys of chemical factories is adversely affecting the air and the health of the people.

Despite the notices and closures of the State Pollution Control Board to control industrial pollution, chemical factories are operating by flouting the rules and regulations and openly playing with the health of the public.

For the last few years, chemical factory operators have polluted the land and groundwater here by releasing polluted water into the ground.

Due to the non-appointment of any member or officer of PCB (Pollution Control Board) in Meghnagar, water pollution, air pollution, land pollution, noise pollution are causing problems to the public every day.

Due to releasing polluted water in the open by flouting the rules and regulations, crores of gallons of water of the intake well and dam built under the Rs 30 crore project of Nal Jal Yojana for drinking water supply in Meghnagar city has been spoiled for the last two years, which was wasted without use. In the scorching heat, on one hand the ground is cracking, on the other hand, red-black water containing chemicals is flowing from the cemented drains of the industrial area into the rivers and drains.

The area is filled with polluted water containing chemicals which is flowing from the drains through the railway line bridge into the forests of Rakhadia, Gujarpada. Further, this polluted water also joins the river.

PCB regional officer Shri Nivas Dwivedi said that notices have been issued to all the factories spreading pollution including Trent Chemical, Rathore Pharma, Siddhi Vinayak, Vini Industries from Indore and Bhopal PCB office.

Work is being done on an action plan to eliminate pollution here by constantly visiting the industrial area.

For this, strict instructions are being given to the industries.

Dwivedi said that closure notice (to stop work) has been issued from Bhopal to Trent Chemical and Rathore Pharma in Meghnagar Industrial Area. If the concerned factories do not work according to the SOP, strict action will be taken by PCB.

Industrial area has become infamous

On one hand, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh is busy wooing investors by going to the country and abroad for industrial investment, while on the other hand, the name of the industrial area has become infamous due to the situations arising due to the alleged pollution spreading industrial units spreading pollution and playing with the public.

In the past also, the people of the area have put their point in front of the government fearlessly due to violent demonstrations, dharna, road blockade at industrial factories. Due to the outcome of these incidents, many investors changed their mind to invest here, due to which the efforts of MPIDC have also suffered a setback.

Law and order has deteriorated due to chemical factories, despite which the poison spewing factory operators are not able to fulfill their promises of controlling pollution.

The situation seemed to improve after the Corona period, but industrial pollution is again increasing rapidly since the last six-seven months.

Strict action required

Recently, Meghnagar Municipal Council opened all the gates of its dam built on the Anas river and released crores of gallons of water which was to be supplied to thousands of city dwellers for drinking water in summers, due to pollution. This is a strong proof of the fact that the industrial units related to chemicals are not disposing of their waste properly as per the prescribed (SOP) parameters.

For cost cutting and their own profit, the alleged factory operators are openly playing with the lives and property of the common people by releasing polluted water and gas in the open. MPIDC spent crores of rupees to stop water pollution.

CEPT plant was made but industrial units are reluctant to give polluted water to this plant because treatment of waste water is costly for factories. To avoid this cost, some factories are polluting the area by releasing polluted water in the open.

Along with the lockout, FIR was also lodged. Former SDM Mukesh Soni was seen making many efforts to stop industrial pollution. He had also sealed many factories before his retirement.

After this action, the regional office of MPIDC and Pollution Control Board also issued notices to many factories, despite this the level of pollution in Meghnagar area is not decreasing.

Dehadi is the cause of pollution

Despite being the biggest industrial area of ??the district, the educated youth here are being given employment as rural labourers instead of working in the offices of these factories.

In most of the factories, people from outside states are employed on technical office posts.

Citing efficiency, factory operators pat their backs by making the people of the tribal community here mere laborers in the name of employment

While before setting up the industry, claims are made to the government and the public to provide employment to 100% local people. This is what the responsible person said

Srinivas Dwivedi (Regional Officer, PCB Indore) is constantly visiting the area and efforts are being made for pollution control. Strict notices are being issued to polluting factories to make improvements. As per the law, closure notices have been issued to Trent Chemical and Rathore Pharma, if the guidelines are violated, action will be taken to close the unit.

Sub-Divisional Officer Ritika Patidar has informed PCB, MPIDC and Collector Madam about the pollution related complaints in Meghnagar. To ensure that there is no problem of drinking water in Meghnagar, work is being done for its permanent solution along with giving 4 lakh liters of water per day to MPIDC.

Dinesh Patidar, Manish Nahta, Arun Ohari, Imran Sheikh, Ved Prakash Baser, Neeraj Shrivastava, Kamlesh etc. said that environmentalists have no objection to industrial development but industries which play with the environment and human health should not be allowed.

The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh should take cognizance and take action against those industries which pollute water, forest and land and become a problem for human life.
