A special seminar and  workshop on “Impactful Writing” was held at Swaminarayan Akshardham, New Delhi, organized by the BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute. The event aimed to raise awareness and provide training on effective and meaningful writing. Over 200 enthusiastic participants from diverse professional backgrounds attended the event.

Distinguished scholars and dignitaries including Professor Ramesh Bharadwaj (Vice Chancellor, Maharshi Valmiki Sanskrit University, Kaithal Haryana), Professor Sachchidanand Mishra (Member Secretary, Indian Council of Philosophical Research), Professor Bhagirathi Nanda (Professor, Lal Bahadur University, New Delhi), Mr. Anirudh Sharma, Deputy Editor, Dainik Bhaskar Newspaper), Mr. Dharmendra Kumar (Director, Patanjali IAS Classes. Justice (retd.) Abhilasha Kumari (Former Chief Justice Manipur High Court and Former Judicial Member, Lokpal) was also present.

At 1:30 PM, the first session commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. Pujya Narayanmunidas Swami, a senior Sadhu of BAPS, in his welcome address remarked: “Words influence the intellect, while emotions touch the heart. In the Ramayana, the world’s first poetic scripture, Maharshi Valmiki portrayed the life of Bhagwan Ram through his lived experience in poetic form. When we write from experience, our words resonate with authenticity and impact.”

Mahamahopadhyay Pujya Bhadreshdas Swami, President of the BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute, delivered the keynote address where he emphasized:“As society evolves, the value of words increases. Words shape individuals and influence communities. Our ancient scriptures affirm that ‘verbal testimony is the most powerful evidence.’ Writing reflects our culture, intellect, and values. Civilizations are remembered by their literature. To write with impact, one must draw inspiration from seers like Vedvyas and poets like Kalidasa. True expression stems from inner inspiration and worldly experience.”

Thereafter, Dr. Gyanananddas Swami elaborated on various forms of writing—such as formal writing, creative writing, personal journaling, and press releases—and highlighted the importance of content writing along with key principles for writing effectively.

The Director of Patanjali, IAS Classes, Dharmendra Kumar conducted a session on essay writing. Additionally, keeping various competitive examinations in mind, Prashant Shekhar in his session on “The Art of Answer Writing” provided participants with practical tools to enhance clarity, structure, and impact in their written responses—especially for competitive exams. Emphasis was laid on understanding the question, presenting balanced analysis, and practicing consistently using proven frameworks. The session inspired attendees to focus not just on content but on effective communication. It concluded with a call to integrate daily writing practice for long-term success.

Thereafter, an interactive question-and-answer session was conducted in which the participants posed various questions related to writing to the guests and received valuable guidance. In the concluding session of the workshop, Hon’ble Justice Abhilasha Kumari delivered the valedictory address, expressing her thoughts on the theme of the event and emphasizing the importance of thoughtful expression. Following this, Dr. Jyotindra Dave (Director, Swaminarayan Delhi Akshardham Research Institute) appreciated all the participants and members of the organizing team, acknowledging their contribution to the success of the program.

The seminar and workshop concluded with the presidential address at 4:45 PM. The second session proved to be inspiring and memorable, with participants feeling elated and enthusiastic, and expressing their commitment to becoming better writers.
