FIVE MINOR GIRLS REUNITED WITH FAMILIES WITHIN ONE WEEK

The exemplary efforts of the Parliament Street Police Station have resulted in successful reunion of five minor girls with their families within the past week. The initiative arose from observations that the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib area is utilized as a temporary shelter by runaway children.
DETAILS:
The beat staff assigned to the area received specific instructions to remain vigilant for suspicious individuals and minors. Operating under the direct supervision of Inspr Manoj Bhatia, SHO/Parliament Street and the overall guidance of Sh. Anil Samota, ACP/Connaught Place, the staff conducted regular checks to identify individuals requiring assistance.
 
• 04.06.2025: A 17-year-old girl, who seemed out of place, was identified. She revealed she had left home on 02.06.2025, and verification with PS Aman Vihar confirmed registration of kidnapping case vide FIR No. 378/25, dated 03.06.2025, under section 137(2) BNS. Subsequently, two more minor girls, both aged 15 years, were identified and verified from concerned police stations i.e. Patparganj and Bindapur. All three girls were safely handed over to their families.
• 05.06.2025: Another minor girl aged 17 years was identified, revealing that a kidnapping case vide FIR No. 89/25, dated 04.06.2025, under section 137(2) BNS had been registered at PS Ganderbal, Jammu & Kashmir. Her family was contacted and she was reunited with her family.
• 10.06.2025: A fifth minor girl, aged 17 years and hailing from Patiala, Punjab, was identified. Despite initial reluctance, the girl opened up under comfortable atmosphere. Her family was contacted, and on 12.06.2025, she was safely handed over to her mother.
 
These heartwarming reunions are a testament to the vigilance and dedication of the New Delhi District police, highlighting our proactive approach to identifying and assisting vulnerable persons.
 
New Delhi District urges all citizens to remain alert and report any sighting of unattended or distressed minors to the nearest police personnel or helpline-112. Timely information can make a vital difference in reuniting such children with their loved ones and ensuring their safety. Together, we can continue building a safe society.
