Air India plane crashes in residential area of Ahmedabad

An Air India plane crashed in residential area Meghani Nagar within 3 minutes of taking off from Ahmedabad airport at 1.39 pm. There were 242 people on board including crew members.

According to unconfirmed sources, more than 250 people have been injured. The viral video shows that the plane fell from a height of about 400 feet. After the crash of this plane, terrible fire and smoke rose. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was also on board.

There were 59 foreign nationals and 169 Indian passengers on board this plane.

The remaining 12 passengers were crew members. The burnt debris of the crashed plane is scattered here and there. It is being told that the pilot did not get time to save it. This plane had come from New Delhi. Burnt bodies are kept in hospitals, while many others are missing. 4 teams of NDRF are carrying out relief work at the accident site. Many ambulances and fire brigades are also present. Hospitals are just 200 meters away.

It is being told that the plane was filled with a very large amount of fuel, 1.25 lakh liters. The terrible condition of the fire can be understood from this. There is a lot of difficulty in identifying the bodies of the people. The official figures of the dead are yet to come. According to an aviation expert, there is a possibility of huge human loss in this tragic accident, which can be in hundreds. On this basis, there is a sad possibility of casualties of many people of the residential area including the passengers of the plane. Prayers are being offered for everyone's safety across the country.

Some sources are telling that former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also went to board the plane.

This plane was being flown by Captain Sumit Sabharwal and his assistant. The captain is a very experienced pilot.
