ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERS BY ALERT TRAFFIC STAFF OF DELHI POLICE

Two pistols and 10 live cartridges recovered from accused persons : On 12.05.2025, In a remarkable display of courage and presence of mind, SI Sanjeev and Ct. Rahul Nain of Shahdara Traffic Circle successfully apprehended two armed snatchers involved in a robbery at Dilshad Garden, Delhi. INFORMATION AND ACTION A courageous local resident, Shiva Thakur, who witnessed the incident, followed the accused and alerted the traffic staff deployed at Chintamani Chowk.

On receiving the information, SI Sanjeev and Ct. Rahul Nain acted swiftly and signaled the robbers to stop. The accused attempted to flee, but Ct. Rahul showed exceptional bravery by striking the motorcycle with his leg, causing the duo to fall. In a desperate attempt to escape, accused Imran fired at SI Sanjeev. Despite the threat, SI Sanjeev managed to overpower and apprehend him. The second accused, Warees, also attempted to open fire but was tackled and restrained by Ct. Rahul Nain. SI Sanjeev sustained minor injuries during the scuffle.

RECOVERY: A Yamaha FZ motorcycle used in the crime was recovered from the scene. 01 pistol and 06 live cartridges were seized from Imran, and 01 pistol and 04 live cartridges were recovered from Warees. The three stolen gold chains were also recovered. Preliminary inquiry reveals that accused Warees has 36 previous criminal involvements, while the background of Imran is under verification.

Delhi Traffic Police commends the outstanding efforts of SI Sanjeev and Ct. Rahul Nain, whose fearless and timely intervention led to the arrest of armed criminals and ensured public safety.
