Preparation to deal with emergency: Siren system will be developed in 66 wards of Gwalior, all sirens will ring on one signal

Siren system will be installed in all 66 wards of Gwalior Municipal Corporation area to strengthen the emergency warning system. In the meeting organized on the instructions of Minister-in-charge Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Division Commissioner Shri Manoj Khatri instructed the officials to identify such places in the city and install sirens from where the entire area can be alerted simultaneously. The system will be integrated by making all sirens ringable on one signal.

The Division Commissioner directed that the sirens already installed should also be activated and banks, colonies and other institutions should also be encouraged to install sirens. He clarified that the street lights should be switched off immediately on receiving the siren signal and through public representatives, citizens should be made aware to switch off the lights of homes and establishments and remove vehicles from the roads.

Inspector General of Police Mr. Arvind Saxena, Collector Mrs. Ruchika Chauhan, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Dharamveer Singh and other officers were present in the meeting. Special emphasis was also laid on reducing the response time in emergency, enlistment of hospitals, backup power arrangements, readiness of NDRF/SDRF and voluntary organizations.

Apart from this, instructions were also given to stop rumors on social media and keep a reserve stock of petrol and diesel. This entire system is a precautionary step towards keeping the citizens alert, restrained and safe.
