Human Unity Day - A unique resolution of selfless service

Mahesh Dhoundiyal - Delhi

'Human Unity Day', which highlights the spirit of love and brotherhood, is organized by Nirankari Mission every year on 24 April in an atmosphere full of devotion and spiritual feelings in the holy memory of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji. This day is not just an occasion to remember the good deeds, but is a spiritual confluence of the feelings of humanity, harmony and unity.

On the occasion of Human Unity Day, the Mission starts an inspiring series of blood donation across the country, which becomes a form of collective awakening of the spirit of selfless service and continues to flow in the society throughout the year. Along with this, the light of love, peace and harmony is also spread to the people through satsang programs. This day is a symbol of the fact that service is not just a task, but a spiritual feeling of selfless dedication.

This year too, Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation organised a continuous series of grand blood donation camps at more than 500 branches across India. The blood donation camp organised at Ground No. 8, Nirankari Chowk Burari, Delhi was a special centre of attention, where devotees participated in large numbers. Everyone donated blood voluntarily with full enthusiasm and dedication and contributed to human welfare.

The visionary Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, through the enlightenment of truth, freed the society from superstitions and evils, and started inspiring public welfare campaigns like de-addiction, simple marriage and connecting the youth with positive thinking. Carrying forward his holy guidance, Baba Hardev Singh Ji made blood donation an integral part of the spiritual service of the Mission by giving the immortal message of “blood should flow in the veins, not in the drains”. This message is still alive in the heart of every Nirankari devotee as an inspiring flame of service and dedication.

Medical Director of Sant Nirankari Health City, Geetika Duggal, while giving information, said that today about 30,000 units of blood were collected in the blood donation series organized across India, out of which about 1,000 units of blood were donated in Delhi camp alone.

This day is a symbol of the sacred memory of all those dedicated martyr saints including Chacha Pratap Singh ji, who dedicated their entire life by walking on the path of human unity, selfless service and spiritual consciousness. Human Unity Day brings alive the inspiration of the strong faith and determination of those saints.

Specialist teams of Indian Red Cross Society and major hospitals of Delhi like AIIMS, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, Safdarjung, Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital, Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital, Hindu Rao Hospital etc. participated in these blood donation camps. Complete health checkup, special attention to hygiene and excellent refreshment arrangements for the blood donors made this service even more systematic and respectable.

This great campaign is not just blood donation, but a living medium to bring to life the message of compassion, service and unity of Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, which teaches us that humanity is the highest religion. Inspired by this inspiration, Sant Nirankari Mission is continuously paving the way for humanity on the path of service and dedication.
