New Delhi, April 15: Delhi BJP President Mr. Virendra Sachdeva stated that the people of Delhi are well aware that between 2015 and 2024, under the pressure and collusion of Aam Aadmi Party leaders and MLAs, not only EWS (Economically Weaker Section) certificates but also fake caste certificates were issued, leading to a large-scale scam in school admissions. EWS certificates were also misused for hospital admissions and other government benefits.

Mr. Sachdeva said that now, when Chief Minister Mrs. Rekha Gupta has taken cognizance of complaints regarding the misuse of EWS certificates in availing government benefits, the Aam Aadmi Party has panicked and is spreading confusion by falsely claiming that the issuance of certificates has been stopped.

The Chief Minister has not imposed any ban on the issuance of EWS certificates.

The Delhi BJP President said that on December 18, 2024, they had exposed the scam during the AAP government’s tenure, in which fake certificates were used to obtain benefits. However, even after this revelation, the Delhi government took no action against any official or MLA, because the entire AAP government was involved in this scam.

Mr. Virendra Sachdeva reiterated that the people of Delhi understand why Saurabh Bharadwaj is raising a dispute regarding EWS certificates – he knows that if the EWS scam is investigated, not only will he be implicated, but Arvind Kejriwal and many of his 62 MLAs may also be named.

The Delhi BJP President said that after losing the election, Saurabh Bharadwaj called himself an unemployed leader and is now trying to remain relevant in politics by issuing a statement every day.

The BJP President concluded by saying that the economically weaker people of Delhi will continue to receive EWS certificates and their benefits in the future. The Chief Minister has only instructed the creation of appropriate guidelines to prevent misuse, and no ban has been imposed on issuing certificates.
