Successful Operation by Southern Range – Burglar Arrested and Stolen Property Recovered

In a swift and effective operation, the Southern Range team of Delhi Police has apprehended a habitual burglar and recovered stolen property, marking a significant breakthrough in a recent house theft case.
Incident Details

On June 16, 2025, an FIR was registered under Section 305 BNS at Police Station Govindpuri in connection with a house burglary. The complainant reported the theft of a mobile phone and cash. CCTV footage from the scene captured a suspect exiting the premises, providing a critical lead in the investigation.
Team and Operation

A dedicated team was formed under the overall supervision of ACP Girish Kaushik and led by Inspector Vijay Pal Dahiya. The investigation team included ASI Krishan, HC Vipin, and HC Sanjay.
The team conducted a detailed analysis of the CCTV footage, leading to the identification of the suspect—Akshay @ Nepali, aged 22, a known repeat offender with a criminal history dating back to his juvenile years.

Through sustained efforts, the team successfully traced and apprehended the accused at his residence in Govindpuri, Delhi. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the burglary.
Recovery and Further Action

The stolen mobile phone was recovered from the accused. Additionally, three other mobile phones—stolen from the Lajpat Nagar and Govindpuri areas—were also seized. The accused has been found involved in six additional cases of burglary, and the concerned police stations have been informed for further legal proceedings.
