ONGOING DRUG AWARENESS PROGRAM AND SURPRISE INSPECTIONS.

  • JOINT OPERATION BEING CONDUCTED BY CRIME BRANCH, NCB AND LOCAL POLICE. 
  • CHECKING OF PUBLIC PLACES AND HOTSPOTS BY DOG SQUAD OF NCB. 
 
  A joint operation by the ANTF, Crime Branch, and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), along with local police, is underway, focusing on surprise inspections at suspected locations and public hotspots using the NCB's dog squad. As part of its zero-tolerance approach to narcotics, the Delhi Police, in collaboration with the NCB, is committed to eradicating drug-related issues. The operation aims to combat illegal drug trafficking while simultaneously promoting drug awareness among various community members, including residents, students, and commuters near Sri Venkateshwara College (Delhi University), in the area of PS South Campus, Delhi. 
 
Awareness Program: 
? Sessions and Talks: Informative sessions on drug awareness, legal consequences, and health risks. 
? Distribution of Educational Material: Pamphlets, posters, and leaflets explaining the signs of drug abuse and helpline numbers. 
? Engagement with Community: Interactive discussions with residents, students, and shopkeepers to encourage community participation in reporting suspicious activities. 
 
 
Surprise Checking: 
? Deployment: Teams of ANTF, Crime Branch Delhi, NCB official alongwith their dog squad and local police were deployed for random checks in key locations. 
 
? Inspection Points: Public transport hubs, educational institutions, markets, and other high-footfall areas. 
 
? Method: Use of trained sniffer dogs to detect narcotics, random frisking, and checking of luggage and vehicles. 
 
Outcomes: 
? Awareness Raised: Significant public engagement with a positive response from local residents and students. 
 
? Security Strengthened: Enhanced visibility of law enforcement creating a deterrent effect. 
 
 The initiative has successfully raised awareness regarding the detrimental effects of drug abuse while fostering public trust in law enforcement. Ongoing efforts will ensure collaboration with the community to maintain a drug-free environment, with additional programs planned for other sensitive areas.
