Demand to Relax Age Limit for Project-Affected Workers at PKV

MLA Randhir Savarkar has urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to relax the age limit criteria and provide government appointments to long-term contract workers affected by university land acquisition at Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University. He emphasized that local landowners, whose land was acquired for the university's establishment, should not be deprived of justice.

Project-affected workers, who have been serving on a contractual basis for an extended period, are facing injustice due to the age limit set in the university’s recent recruitment advertisement for Class C and D positions. The representatives of the project-affected workers' association met MLA Randhir Savarkar to present their grievances.

In 2009, the university had announced a recruitment plan for project-affected individuals without an age restriction. Candidates had applied with the required fees, but despite over 15 years passing, no action was taken by the university. The university has neither canceled the previous recruitment nor proceeded with appointments, leaving the affected workers in uncertainty.

Considering this situation, MLA Randhir Savarkar discussed the issue with CM Devendra Fadnavis over the phone and strongly requested that the age limit criteria be relaxed to ensure justice for the project-affected individuals.
