Two major interstate drug suppliers arrested.

In a major success under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Crime Branch, Delhi Police, has dismantled a significant interstate narcotics supply chain with the arrest of two key drug traffickers operating out of Badaun, Uttar Pradesh. The operation has led to the seizure of 1,053 grams of high-grade heroin, valued at over ?5 crore in the international market.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a team of ANTF, Crime Branch led by Inspector Shiv Kumar and working under the close supervision of Shri Rajkumar, ACP/ANTF/Zone-II identified and tracked the operations of a narcotics syndicate spearheaded by Anas Khan, with active support from his associate Sudheer Kumar.
The Operation
                           Following sustained intelligence gathering and technical surveillance, actionable input was received regarding a potential drug deal in Delhi. A raiding team comprising ASI Praveen, HC Samrat, HC Surjeet, and Ct. Vikrant, led by Inspector Shiv Kumar, was deployed.
                         On 01.07.2025, the team conducted a tactical raid near Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, Zero Pusta Road, Delhi, and successfully intercepted the suspects during a narcotics transaction. Anas Khan and Sudheer Kumar were apprehended while attempting to deliver a consignment of heroin to an associate of Mohd. Faiz. The suspects were traveling in a white Maruti Suzuki Baleno (Reg. No. UP 24AV 8148), which was also seized.
                   Upon compliance with all procedural safeguards under the NDPS Act, a search led to the recovery of:
• 527 grams of heroin from the possession of Anas Khan
• 526 grams of heroin from the possession of Sudheer Kumar
A case under FIR No. 166/2025 dated 02.07.2025, u/s 21/25/29 of the NDPS Act, has been registered at PS Crime Branch, and further investigation is underway.
Modus Operandi
 
The syndicate’s operation involved the procurement of heroin from a supplier named Avnish, a resident of Badaun, U.P., which was then transported to and distributed in the Delhi-NCR and adjoining regions. Anas Khan operated as the key link in the network, coordinating procurement and delivery, while Sudheer Kumar assisted in logistics and field-level distribution.

1. Anas Khan
• Father’s Name: Sh. Aslam Khan
• Address: Ward No. 11, Usait, Badaun, Uttar Pradesh
• Age: 26 years
• Background: A self-employed individual involved in the eucalyptus (liptis) trade. Under financial stress, he became involved in drug trafficking.
• Previous Involvement: One prior case of physical altercation.
2. Sudheer Kumar @ Ritik
• Father’s Name: Sh. Virendra Singh
• Address: Kumargaon, PS & Post Usait, Badaun, Uttar Pradesh
• Age: 27 years
• Background: Works as a helper in a local grocery store. No prior criminal record.

This successful operation reflects the Delhi Police Crime Branch’s unwavering commitment to combating the drug menace under the framework of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The arrest of these key operatives has severely disrupted a major supply channel feeding illegal narcotics into the capital and surrounding regions. Further investigation is ongoing to identify other members of the network and uncover upstream and downstream links.
