Two meet records made in 59th Delhi State Sub-Junior and Junior Swimming Championship

Two records were made in the swimming pool in the 59th Delhi State Sub-Junior and Junior Swimming Championship. Rehan Sejwal and Yuvraj Singh made new meet records in their events while Sehar won the fourth gold. During the championship, Squadron Leader (Retd.) SR Sahu, Chairman of the Adhoc Committee managing the Delhi Swimming Association, said, "Touch board was used for the first time in North India, which is being controlled by Time Track Sports Event. This will bring more transparency due to accurate results."

In the 200 meter girls under-17 individual medley event held on the third day of the championship on Sunday, Prakriti Dahiya won the gold by beating Khushi Bhatt, who has won two golds so far, with a time of 2:27.49. Khushi had to settle for silver and Vanshika Gusain had to settle for bronze. In the boys category, Arnav Tyagi (2:18.99) won while Dhruv Sejwal won silver and Vansh Suhag won bronze. In the 200 meter girls under-14 individual medley event, Sehar Puri (2:47.34) got gold, Awesome got silver and Amarya Patni got bronze. In the boys category, Aaron Emmanuel (2:33.75) came first. Vishu Maurya came second and Rakshit Tokas came third. Sehar won gold in 50 meter butterfly and silver in 200 meter backstroke.

In the 400 meter boys under-17 free-style event, Yuvraj Singh won the gold medal by taking time of 4:18.16. Vansh Suhag and Tanush Jhanzhi won silver and bronze medals respectively. In the under-14 category of this event, gold went to Rakshit Tokas (4:43.47). Suryaman Mahawal got silver and Veer Rathi got bronze. Titiksha Rawat (4:47.57) won the gold medal in the 400 meter girls under-17 freestyle event. Prakriti Dahiya and Yajusha Dahiya were successful in winning the silver and bronze medals respectively. In the under-14 category of this event, Nupur Pathak (5:05.34) won the gold. Amira Singhal and Yadhvi Negi got silver and bronze medals respectively.

Earlier, in the 800 meter boys under-17 freestyle event, Yuvraj Singh of Elite Swimming Academy won the gold medal by setting a new meet record by taking 8:54.42 time. Vansh Suhag and Tanush Jhanzhi won the silver and bronze medals respectively. Kian Jain won the gold medal in the boys under-14 50 and 100 meter breaststroke events.

In the 200 meter boys under-17 backstroke event, Rehan Sejwal won the gold medal by taking 2:21.00 time. Tanush Jhanzhi won silver and Veer Bharia won bronze. Earlier, in the 50 meter boys under-17 backstroke event, Rehan Sejwal of Shahdara District Swimming Association won the gold medal by setting a new meet record of 28.25 seconds. Atesh Kurakula won silver and Pradyuman Damra won bronze.
