Boys and girls gave a tough challenge in sub junior and junior swimming championship.

In the 59th Delhi State Junior and Sub Junior Swimming

Championship, the tournament was inaugurated at Talkatora Swimming Pool here today by Adhoc Committee Chairman Sitaram Sahu, member Vijay Kumar and Punjab Swimming Association CEO Balraj Sharma. The championship will continue till 7th July.

More than 410 boys and girls are participating in the championship.

On the first day of the championship, Yuvraj Singh won the first gold medal in 800 m freestyle under 17 by taking a time of 8 minutes 54.42. While Vansh got second and Dhanush got third place. Similarly, among girls, Anya Rawat got the first place by taking a time of 9 minutes 56.59. Titikshha Rawat got second and Prakriti got third place.

Among under 14 boys, Rakshit Tokas got the first place by taking a time of 9 minutes 48,55. While Vishu Maurya got second and Manav Lakar got third place. Among girls, Amira Singal got first place by taking time of 10 minutes 55.47. Yadvi Negi got second and Pranjal got third place.

In 12 400 meter free style among boys, Virat got first place and Tejas got third place in regular. Among girls, Maria got first place, Sneha got second and Ramaiya got third place. In 17 200 m breast stroke among boys, Dhruv got first place, Veer Chawla got second and Tanush got third place. In boys' under 14 breast stroke, Rakshit got first place, Gyan Jain got second and Paranjay got third place. In girls' under 17 200 m breast stroke, Vanshika got first place, Shreya got second and Sheerja Agarwal got third place.

On this occasion, former international swimmer Meenakshi Pahuja and coach and administrator of the stadium Sanjay Bisht and Umesh Tiwari, who was looking after the security arrangements, gave their blessings to the players.
