New Delhi, March 29: Today, under the ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative, the Delhi BJP Purvanchal Morcha organized a Bihar Day program at Ambedkar International Center. The event was graced by the presence of National BJP President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva, Union Minister of State Shri Harsh Malhotra, Member of Parliament Shri Manoj Tiwari, Smt. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Ms. Bansuri Swaraj, and Delhi Government Minister Shri Ashish Sood, who addressed the Purvanchal residents.

The program was coordinated by Purvanchal Morcha President Shri Santosh Ojha, who stated that today, the people of Purvanchal are fully contributing to the economic, social, and spiritual upliftment of Delhi and the nation. They are also pleased to witness the progress brought about by the double-engine government in Bihar under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

The event featured grand exhibitions showcasing Bihar’s folk festival Chhath, folk songs, folk art, and various tableaux representing different aspects of Bihar. The Mithila paintings and handicraft exhibitions received much appreciation. Additionally, arrangements were made for Bihar’s delicious traditional dish, Litti Chokha.

The program was attended by State Vice President Shri Dinesh Pratap Singh, Purvanchal Morcha In-charge Shri Vipin Bihari, Co-in-charge Shri Kaushal Mishra, Office Secretary Shri Brajesh Rai, Co-Office Secretary Shri Amit Gupta, MLAs Shri Abhay Verma and Shri Chandan Chaudhary, Morcha General Secretaries Shri Jagdamba Singh, Shri Sanjay Tiwari, Shri Vishal Chandel, along with all state officials of Purvanchal Morcha, district presidents, and thousands of workers.

In his address, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda stated that today we are celebrating Bihar Day, but we have also seen a sinking Bihar during Lalu’s regime, where people were afraid to step out of their homes in the evening. He emphasized Bihar’s special significance, whether it is the initiation of the JP movement or the identity of Nalanda University. Bihar introduced democracy to the world, and therefore, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has resolved to develop Bihar, a goal we all must work towards.

Shri J.P. Nadda expressed his emotional connection with Bihar, recalling that no one can forget their childhood. His upbringing and education all took place in Bihar, giving him firsthand experience of the jungle raj, where venturing out after dusk was challenging. He reminisced about the times in Patna when the city would shut down after 5 PM and recalled Phanindra Nath Renu returning his award during the JP movement.

The BJP National President highlighted that during Lalu’s jungle raj, kidnapping had become an industry, plunging Bihar into darkness. However, under Nitish Kumar’s governance, light returned, and now, under Modi Ji’s leadership, a new wave of development has emerged. He mentioned that several world-class institutions are being established in Bihar, including what is set to be Asia’s largest hospital in Patna. The All India Medical Institute in Patna is poised to become the world’s largest hospital. He noted that it was once unimaginable to have medical colleges in Buxar, Jamui, and Purnia.

He thanked all Bihar residents in Delhi for their significant contribution to forming the government in Delhi and stated that now it’s Bihar’s turn. He pointed out that in Delhi colleges, a substantial number of students hail from Bihar, with 30% in Hindu College, 40% in Kirori Mal College, 50% in Hansraj College, 40-50% in Ramjas College, and even 10-15% in St. Stephen’s College. While it’s commendable that people have come from Bihar, it’s also essential to give back to Bihar. He emphasized that the Bihar once labeled as a sick state has now become a leading state. Today, along the banks of the Ganges in Patna, one sees a scene like Mumbai's marine drive, unlike past when liquor bottles & drunkards could be seen all around.. Therefore, to commit to a developed Bihar, we must now work diligently for Bihar.

Shri Virendra Sachdeva praised the people of Bihar and Purvanchal for their contribution to Delhi’s progress and stated that today, Purvanchal residents have secured a strong position in Delhi’s social horizon. He emphasized that it is unimaginable to think of Delhi’s economic progress without the people from Purvanchal.
