The Current Scenario

There was no public interest involved in filing cases against officials in Assembly Committees under Kejriwal’s rule; the real motive was to pressure officials into following the unconstitutional directives of AAP leaders – Virendra Sachdeva

Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva has stated that the people of Delhi are shocked to see the contradictory statements made by Delhi AAP President Saurabh Bharadwaj and his party colleague, Leader of Opposition Atishi Marlena, regarding administrative officials.

Between 2015 and 2024, the Arvind Kejriwal government filed numerous complaints against officials in Delhi Assembly Committees based on fabricated allegations. However, these cases had nothing to do with public interest; their sole purpose was to exert pressure on officials to comply with the unconstitutional orders of AAP leaders.

Recently, the current Delhi government withdrew these cases from Assembly Committees, relieving officials of undue mental pressure.

Today, Saurabh Bharadwaj has opposed this withdrawal and claimed that by doing so, the present Delhi government has supported corruption among officials.

Shri Sachdeva remarked that the people of Delhi are confused — on one hand, Saurabh Bharadwaj calls the officials corrupt, but on the other, Atishi Marlena recently admitted that despite pressure, the AAP government successfully carried out development work with the cooperation of these very officials. Bharadwaj and Marlena must clarify whose statement the people of Delhi should believe.

The Delhi BJP President further questioned Saurabh Bharadwaj: If the officials were indeed corrupt and hindering public welfare, then why did not even a single Assembly Committee manage to punish a single official ?
