The executive committee meeting of Indian Veterinary Association (IVA) was held at Maharashtra Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Science University (MAHFSU), Nagpur.

The executive committee meeting of Indian Veterinary Association (IVA) was held at Maharashtra Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Science University (MAHFSU), Nagpur. The meeting was attended by representatives of various states veterinary associations across the country. Dr. Niteen Patil, Vice chancellor, MAHFUS, chaired the inaugural session. Also, as a special guest of Honor the event was graced by Sh. Devdutt Ji, National co-organizational Secretary, ABVP.
At the onset of the meeting Dr. Umesh Ch Sharma, President, Indian veterinary association thanked Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh & Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel Hon'ble Minister of Fisheries & Hon'ble Minister of State , Animal Husbandry and Dairying Government of India for approval of Pashu- Ausudi Kendras so that generic veterinary medicine will be made available at a lower price to the livestock owner. He also thanked Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and his government for a separate ministry and special attention to this sector. 

Discussion about various issues of Animal husbandry and veterinary science including state issues was discussed at length. Also, a joint seminar of MAFSU and IVA was also held with subject of VCI - MSVE: Post Graduate (MVSc & PhD Regulations) in which fruitful discussion and recommendations were noticed. Dignitaries attended the meeting were Dr Shirish Upadhye dean MAHFSU, Dr Kurkure director of research MAHFSU, Dr. Bhikane, Director of extension MAHFSU, Dr Ponde dean Fishery MAHFSU, Nagpur.
The important resolutions passed in the meeting are:-
The way forward for IVA is to have State Chapters to reach out for veterinarians and livestock keepers at grassroots level.
Suggestion will be put forward to the government for PG regulation and Minimum Standers of Veterinary practice regulation.
It was resolved to represent the Government at appropriate level to Keep Veterinary education outside the ambit of National Education Policy (NEP) in line with Medical education. 
The discrepancies of salaries at various State government for implementation of the Scheme Mobile Veterinary Unit (MVU) will be taken up with the concern authorities. 
A committee is constituted for representation to the 8th Pay commission for uniform salary for veterinarians across country and to look into other pay related matters.

The IVA-EC unanimously Dr. Umesh Sharma, President Veterinary Council of India and President of the Association said “Veterinary sector is the rising sector, and its horizon spreads from one health to disease control, Milk production, employment generation and doubling farmer’s income. Organisation of veterinary doctors like IVA plays a pivotal role in encouraging veterinary to decipher scientific and technological knowhow to the grass root level of livestock keepers"
General Secretary of IVA Dr. D. Tangaivelu stressed importance on better policy intervention and emphasized on better co-ordination amongst state associations across the country.

The event is also attended by Dr. Sandeep ingle, Vice president VCI & IVA, Dr. Vijay kr, Treasurer IVA, Dr. Amit Nain, Member VCI & Zonal Secretary IVA, Dr. Geetapriya, Member VCI & Zonal secretaries & Vice president across different regions. All the members thanked the team from Maharashtra for organizing the event and spread the message for a united veterinary forum all over the country and diligently contribute their role in nation building.
