The ancient temple submerged in the back water of Mahi can also be reached

Under the guidance of Cabinet Minister Women and Child Development Department Ms. Nirmala Bhuria and under the direction of Collector Neha Meena, a proposal of about 6.3 crore rupees has been sent by the Water Resources Department for the construction and beautification of Shringeshwar Ghat with the aim of developing the ancient Shringeshwar Dham situated at the confluence of Mahi and Madhukanya rivers as a religious tourist destination. In the proposal, there is a provision to build a 250-300 m long and 25 m wide ghat between the new temple and the ancient temple through the Water Resources Department, seating arrangements for devotees, security railing along with a garden.

It is worth noting that a large number of devotees visit Shringeshwar Dham. In view of the possibility of religious tourism, Cabinet Minister Nirmala Bhuria had directed to make a project through the district administration to beautify this place. The ghat on the bank will be built in such a way that it remains completely safe even in the back water of Mahi. This will also prevent erosion of the soil on the banks. At present, the approval of the ghat is expected from the Water Resources Department.

Women and Child Development Minister Nirmala Bhuria said that Shringeshwar Dham, located about 5 km from Jhaknawada in Petlawad area, is the center of faith of the people. This pilgrimage site is located at the confluence of Mahi and Madhukanya rivers and mythological belief is associated with it. It is said that the great saint Shringi Rishi had a horn on his head. While wandering at many places, when he reached the bank of Mahi river, after taking bath there, the horns on Shringi Rishi's head melted. Since then, this place has been named Shrineshwar Dham. It is also said that bathing in the Mahi river here cures many diseases. That is why on special occasions, devotees from many far-flung areas of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh reach here. In view of the public faith, I had asked to make a project to develop this place. This will not only provide convenience to the devotees, but will also promote religious tourism in our district.

Collector Neha Meena said that through this type of beautification, religious tourism will be developed as eco-tourism. Efforts will be made to connect Shringeshwar Dham to the tourist circuit of Shivling under the upcoming Simhastha Mahakumbh in Ujjain in 2028. While making the proposal and the design of the ghat, an attempt was made to connect the new temple and the old temple with each other. The tourism sector impacts the economy of the place and creates employment. Along with this, the work of ghat construction and beautification at the ancient pilgrimage site of Devjhiri is also proposed to be done through coordination of various departments. Events are held throughout the year-

Many religious events are held at Shringeshwar Dham including Guru Purnima Mahotsav, Somvati Amavasya, Shanishari Amavasya, Shravan month. In the year 2023, a grand Rudra Mahayagya was also organized at Shringeshwar Dham. Brahmalin Mahant Kashi Giri Maharaj had established this Dham with full hard work and dedication. The ancient temple got submerged in the back water of Mahi Dam. After this, the new temple was settled on the valley. Here the Pran Pratishtha of Shivling, Panchmukhi Hanuman Ji and Rishi Shringi, Kashigiri and Mahi Mata has been done.
