Dr. Zakir Hussain Madrasa Modernization Scheme Applications invited from interested persons for grant

Applications are being sought from those madrasas which impart only traditional religious education and want to receive government grants for modern education. The institutions running these madrasas must be registered with the Charitable Commissioner or Waqf Board. Interested madrasas have been allowed to apply for honorarium of teachers, basic facilities, library and scholarship for students studying in madrasas, inverter facility in housing, drinking water arrangement etc. for imparting education in subjects like science, mathematics, sociology, Hindi, Marathi, English and Urdu.

Interested madrasas should submit their applications along with necessary documents in duplicate to the District Planning Committee, Planning Bhawan, District Magistrate Office Complex, Akola by February 22 during office hours. As per the government decision, honorarium will be given to maximum 3 D.Ed./B.Ed. teachers. It will be necessary to select any one medium of education from Hindi, Marathi, English or Urdu and appoint teachers accordingly. A grant of ?50,000 will be given for library and educational material for the first time and ?5,000 every year thereafter. A grant of ?10 lakh is payable for basic facilities.

Madarsas which have already availed benefits under any scheme will not get the benefit of the same facility again. Madarsas availing benefits under centrally sponsored schemes will not be eligible for the benefits of this scheme. Proposals received after the prescribed deadline will not be accepted.
