The above thoughts were expressed by the chief guest MLA Golu Shukla in the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Award ceremony and Thalassemia awareness program organized at the Press Club. Principal Tongya presided over the awareness and felicitation ceremony organized by Madhya Pradesh Thalassemia Welfare Society. Rajesh Garg of Shri Kalyanmal Badri Prasad Parmarthik Trust participated as a special guest. Organization President Chandrashekhar Sharma gave the welcome speech. Secretary Ms. Vandana Sharma gave information about the service activities of Madhya Pradesh Thalassemia Welfare Society. In the foundation day program of the organization, women personalities of the city were awarded the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Award. On this occasion, the city's social worker Mrs. Sangeeta Garg, Mrs. Ranjana Salve, bone marrow transplant specialist Dr. Prachi Chaudhary, Mrs. Mamta Raghuvanshi, Mrs. Pushpa Kala Jain, Mrs. Chanchal Salaria, who serves the disabled children and has selflessly served the thalassemia patients, were given Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Award, shawl and certificate by the guests. Senior doctor Prachi Chaudhary and cancer specialist Dr. SS Nair gave important information in the seminar on thalassemia blood disorder and bone marrow transplant. Dr. SS Nair said that thalassemia is of two types. If both the parents of the child to be born have minor thalassemia in their genes, then the child may have major thalassemia, which can be quite fatal. Therefore, it is important that both the man and the woman get their test done in this regard before marriage. Bone marrow transplant specialist Dr Prachi Chaudhary said in the awareness seminar that the success rate of bone marrow transplant is increasing. The process of bone marrow transplant has improved. According to the European Union, there should be 50 bone marrow transplants for every million people. In the year 2021, about 10,000 people got bone marrow transplant in America. Social worker Hemlata Ajmera, Manisha Joshi, Lata Sharma, Malvi Kaki, Captain Israr Nashtri and other dignitaries were present in the program. The program was conducted by Tahir Kamal Siddiqui.
