Program held at Brahma Kumaris Center under Cyber Security Campaign

Gwalior: Under the Cyber ??Security Campaign, an awareness program for cyber security was organized at Sangam Bhawan Center of Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya located at Old High Court Line. Sub-Inspector Ashish Sharma from Police Station Jhansi Road Gwalior, Sister Anjali Parihar from Gurukul Dream Foundation, Brahma Kumaris Center Head Rajyogini BK Adarsh ????Didi, Motivational Speaker BK Prahlad Bhai were mainly present in the program.

This program was conducted with the joint efforts of IT Wing (R.E.R.F.) of Brahma Kumaris Institute, Daily Newspaper Nai Duniya, Gurukul Dream Foundation, Akash Barua and City Superintendent of Police University Gwalior Ms. Hina Khan.

At the beginning of the program, BK Prahlad said that today's session is related to cyber security, the purpose of which is to make people aware. Today, due to lack of information, many times we become victims of cyber fraud. So how do we protect ourselves and others from this with alertness?

In the program, Sub Inspector Ashish Sharma discussed about cyber crime and explained in detail about digital arrest, use of social media, safe click, online shopping, online fraud and how to stay safe from cyber crime and in case of crime, help can be taken on dial 1930 and NCRP (National Cyber ??Crime Report Portal). Also, everyone was urged to share this information to reach as many people as possible, QR code was also shared for cyber oath.

In the program, Anjali Parihar told that avoid sharing personal information, keep a strong password in your account, we should not click on unverified links giving attractive offers, suddenly someone's video call or phone call comes in which he talks about some kind of loss to your relative or demands money, then these can be cyber criminals. Do not be afraid of them, file a complaint in the cyber cell.

In the program, BK Adarsh ????Didi said that whatever information was given here today about cyber security, such as - what is cyber crime and how to avoid it, then surely everyone will benefit from it. Today, we see and hear about many types of digital fraud, so caution and awareness is the best solution for it. I am sure that through this session you will become aware yourself and will also make others aware.

Some precautions to avoid cyber fraud -

1. Keep strong passwords of email ID, social media profile, net banking, e-wallet and keep changing them at regular intervals.

2. Do not share any kind of OTP with an unknown person.

3. Beware of the temptations of offers of online lottery, cash back, job, loan, insurance shopping etc.

4. Use only trusted social media platforms, official online shopping websites.

5. Fraud is being done on social media platforms in the name of providing benefits on investment etc. Do not join such groups and do not make any kind of payment.

6. For the customer care number of any institution or company, use their official website only.

7. Beware of those who call in the name of police or investigation agencies and demand money by scaring children or grandchildren in some crime, do not deposit money in anyone's account. There is no provision like digital arrest.

8. Be cautious in online gaming, do not fall into the trap of free gifts or rewards.

9. Avoid sharing sensitive information while using public WiFi.

10. Avoid clicking on unknown links, emails, and messages.

11. Before opening the website, make sure that it starts with “https” only.
