Hosted by IIT Indore, the signature winter conference of the Network Science Society, NetSciX 2025, will be inaugurated today from January 15 to January 17, 2025. This is the first time this prestigious conference is being held in India. Around 200 participants will participate in this conference, in which 80 inspiring lectures and 80 posters will be displayed. All these will highlight various applications in the emerging field of network science.

NetSciX is an extension of the popular NetSci conference series, which provides a platform for dialogue and collaboration to network science researchers and professionals. The conference encourages interdisciplinary dialogue on network science in diverse fields such as computer science, physics, mathematics, statistics, life sciences, neuroscience, environmental science, social sciences, economics, art and design.

Professor Sarika Jalan of IIT Indore and Professor Hiroki Sayama of Birmingham University, USA are serving as the conference chairs. At the same time, Professor Bapan Ghosh and Professor Manvendra Mahato are playing a leading role in the local organizing committee.

Professor Jalan said, "In the conference, eminent researchers from all over the world will lecture on their research work, which will discuss various topics such as statistical mechanics, graph theory, stochastic processes, machine learning and epidemic control. Five special sessions will be organized, which will include topics such as multilayer and temporal networks, Asian network science, noise, networks and biology, latest advances in network science and hypergraphs." This conference has previously been held in cities like Venice, Buenos Aires, Tokyo, Santiago, Hangzhou, Tel Aviv, Wroclaw and Rio de Janeiro. Now, with this conference being held for the first time in India, the country's talents in the field of network science will get a global platform.
