The meeting of the district level advisory committee was concluded under the chairmanship of Indore Collector Ashish Singh.

In which Collector Singh said that the district administration is committed to ensure the availability of safe food items to the general public. Collector Ashish Singh, while expressing his commitment, has given strict instructions that those who manufacture and sell unsafe and substandard food items for human life will not be spared under any circumstances. Strict action will be taken against them and criminal cases will also be registered. The campaign being run against adulterators will be made more effective by speeding up. It has been made mandatory to install machines to check the quality (fat) of milk in all the dairies selling milk in Indore.

In this regard, fat machines have been installed in most of the dairies. Action will be taken against those dairies where fat machines are not found. The meeting of the district level advisory committee constituted under the Food Safety and Standards Act was concluded here today under the chairmanship of Collector Ashish Singh. Additional Collector Gaurav Benal, District Food Safety Officer Manish Swami, officers of concerned departments and committee members were present in the meeting. In the meeting, Collector Ashish Singh reviewed the progress of the ongoing campaign against adulterators in Indore district.

He directed that this campaign should be made more effective by speeding up. The campaign should be conducted comprehensively, for this a calendar should be prepared and sample collection should be done. All types of food items should be tested. All types of food items should be taken under the scope of testing. Those who make unsafe and substandard food items should not be spared under any circumstances. It was told that 127 cases were filed in the district from January 1, 2024 to last December. During this period, decisions were taken in 188 cases. Conviction was found in all. A fine of Rs 1 crore 74 lakh 90 thousand was imposed and a fine of Rs 94 lakh 83 thousand was recovered.

During this period, revenue of Rs 2 crore 34 lakh 66 thousand was received from licenses and registrations. Various programs are also being organized in the district to make consumers aware. The district is also participating in the Eat Right Challenge competition. In the meeting, Collector Ashish Singh distributed certificates to government and non-government organizations doing excellent work in Indore district under the Eat Right Challenge competition. This certificate was given to DPS School, Brilliant Convention Center, Hotel Sheraton Grand Palace, Life Care Hospital, Ankur Rehab Center and Bhumika Self-Help Group Pardesipura. It was told that Indore district has participated in the Eat Right Challenge competition.

It is expected that Indore district will get the first place in the country. WhatsApp helpline number has been issued to collect information related to adulteration. Any person can give information related to adulteration to the officials of the Food Safety Department. Arrangements have also been made to collect information in the Municipal Corporation's App-311 and another app Aahar. In the meeting, Collector Ashish Singh said that it will be mandatory to install machines to check the quality of milk in all the dairies selling milk. It was told that the instructions given by the Collector in this regard in February-2024 are being effectively followed. Shri Swami said that so far fat checking machines have been installed in more than one and a half hundred dairies. Only a few dairies are left, the said machines will be installed in them soon. Action will be taken against those dairies who do not install the machines.
