Seven days special camp under the theme 'Youth for My Bharat and Youth for Digital Literacy' in Lakhuwas village from 2nd to 8th January 2025
The NSS Unit of K.R. Mangalam University successfully organized a seven-day special camp from 2nd to 8th January 2025 at Lakhuwas village, Sohna. The camp was organized under the guidance of Dr Neeraj Kumari, NSS Program Coordinator, Mr Amit Kumar Yadav and Mr Thomas Monteiro (NSS Program Officer), Dr Sapna Rana and Dr Vicky Kapoor (NSS Members). The camp aimed to instill a sense of social responsibility and leadership among NSS volunteers while addressing key societal issues.
Throughout the week, various activities and expert sessions were conducted to empower the volunteers and engage the villagers. Sessions on Digital Literacy, Cyber Security, Entrepreneurship, and Drug Abuse Awareness were delivered by various experts. Additionally, competitions such as a Rangoli Competition on Swachhata Abhiyan, a Declamation on the Importance of Swadeshi, and a Poster-Making Competition on the Role of Youth in Nation Development encouraged creativity and critical thinking.
The camp also featured a Cultural Program and Sports Activities for NSS volunteers, promoting teamwork and cultural exchange. To raise awareness, Nukkad Nataks were performed on topics like Drug Abuse and Social Issues, leaving a lasting impact on the villagers.
A Health Camp and First Aid Training were organized for the benefit of the local community where more than 100 villagers benefitted the camp, emphasizing the importance of healthcare and preparedness. The event culminated with a valedictory function presided over by Dr. Rajendra Kumar Yadav, NSS Program Coordinator, Sushant University, who distributed awards to recognize the efforts of participants. Awards included Best Male and Female Volunteers, Special Contribution towards Societal Service, Emerging Male and Female Stars of the Camp, and prizes for competition winners, the Best Group, and Best Leadership.
The camp was a testament to the spirit of service and the collective effort of NSS volunteers in contributing to societal welfare and nation-building. It concluded with a renewed commitment to continue serving the community with dedication and enthusiasm.
